* Kirby Dach, 66 (21, 45), Over
* Seth Jones, 53 (12, 41), Over (way over, has scored 50+ one time in his career)
* Jonathan Toews, 50 (20, 30), Even (highly suspect he even plays)
* Dylan Strome, 42 (17, 25), Even (way over, expect traded)
* Tyler Johnson, 36 (13, 23), Under (way under)
* Alex Nylander, 30, Even (over)
* Caleb Jones, 19, Even (over)
* Wyatt Kalynuk, 19, Under (way under if gets regular playing time)
Agreed on Dach. Jones expectation is ridiculous. Toews I won’t believe plays until he is actually on the ice. Strome should be gone with or without Toews. Nylander will be in Rockford at some point. Wyatt played well last year and deserves starting minutes and he will surprise many. |

What? He was an all star game MVP, doesn’t that count for anything? Actually he was arguably the third best forward on three cup winning teams, that counts for something. He’s not a HOF type of player by any means, but he helped the team win. He wasn’t one of my favorite Hawks, but he did add value to the Hawks. TBH, he would look good on a line with Dach and Kane right about now. |

Sharp was damn good, imo, but I have him behind Kane, Hossa, and Toews. |

Third? Ahead of who? Toews. Kane or Hossa?

He was good. He filled a role for a lot of seasons, and filled it well. Nice complimentary top 6 player, but not indispensable. Being able to fill in at 2C when asked was probably his biggest single contribution to the cup era. |

As far as being an All-Star game MVP (Angotti’s comment, possible - Ogilthorpe2[probably?] facetious) - so was John Scott, IIRC.
As far as being injury prone (a comment from yesterday, I think) - in 13 seasons after completing his AHL residency, he played in over 70 games 9 times, with another two being over 60. Not exactly too delicate for The Show.
He also scored 30 goals 4 times (altho not in any of the Cup seasons) and 20 goals another 4.
A quality player - probably 4th on the list of Cup-winning Blackhawk forwards - complementary, yes, but very valuable. |

Personally all i was doing was comparing where Sharp and Kubalik were at the same age, Since Peters loves Sharp so much. But I'm sure Peters was like oh yea Sharp at 24-25 yrs old he's a third line player, BUST
The numbers don't lie, Kubs has significantly outperformed Sharp at the same age. |

Hopefully Kubalik plays as well as or outperforms Sharp. But hopefully he doesn’t go crazy this season or the Hawks may not be able to afford him. |

And when Sharp went from 20 to 36 goals the next season, the Blackhawks drafted this kid who was to small to play in the NHL. |

Yes, I was not counting centers, only forwards. |

I was just curious but RH shots who played with Patrick Kane? They have scored over 30 goals 8 out of 14 years, damn. |

NMC? A great deal a lot of people will come off the ledge. I suspect he got an extra year in his mind 4yrs vs. 3yrs. which made it average out for him. Says he wants to stay here. |

Agreed, quite the right side if Mitchell develops as planned or Kaylnuk continues to play on his off-side

I like it as well....but already saw Powers post a chart showing how Hawks likely overpaid in years 2-4....can't wait to get in another "he's not worth the contract" with the mathematical gods on here...... |

If you have an above average shot and are a righty playing left wing.....you have a high probability of netting 30+ goals. Elite passing that opens up the lanes, and guys are cashing in on back door 1 timers and open space. |

I'm thinking I should comment on this deal but I'm not quite sure what to say.

No clauses mentioned in any article I've read and CapFriendly doesn't indicate one either (yet). It still needs to be confirmed though. |

It is. But I wonder what the medium term implications are for Mitchell? That's a lot of dollars and ice time tied up in SJones and Murphy on the right side for 5+ years. |

The correct answer IS:
Great job by Bowman
Great value at only a 800K raise where he likely could have sniffed well over 5+ aav in UFA
It's ONLY 4 years....so all the 100% stat based people who likely female dog that by year 2-4 he's overpaid by THIS.......can riddle me again the very few NHL players who actually are WORTH their deals the ENTIRE longevity.
Like anything.....people will find a reason to piss/moan about it.....hawks 3 very good defensemen locked up now for at least 3+ years. |
