Allan rated the 2nd prospect is simply absurd. - rpeters01
Maybe he was just rated #2? |

They really aren't similar. Wise is more finesse and Kurashev is the better skater by a quite a bit. Kurashev also has more physicality to his game.
I still like Wise as a prospect and if he can stay healthy at OSU, we hopefully see why at one point he was projected to be a 1st round pick before injuries slowed his development. - Elbows15
I meant that Kurashev and Wise are similar as NHL projections as middle 6 (likely 3rd line) centers who play a 200 foot game, commited to defense, and offensively skilled. Apart from that, I agree that their styles differ. |

Interesting pic out there from Kurashev. Hagel and Kurashev at the Sox game yesterday with Reichel. |

Kubalik has 51 goals in 133 career games, including playoffs. That is a 31.4 goal pace per 82 game schedule. Does that mean that he will continue that pace? Not necessarily, but 39 of his 47 regular season goals have come at even strength, and that includes last season playing without a good center. Also, he only averages 13 minutes of ice time a game, so at this rate, granted only two short years of data, I would say he’s a 30 goal scorer in the NHL, all while improving his defensive game. I hope they extend him sooner rather than later, because later may just get a little expensive. |

At ages 24 and 25, hmmm let's look at Sharp at 24 and 25 he played 152 games with a total of 34 goals???
Kubalik is bigger and stronger has a nose for the net but so did Sharp although was really streaky and injury prone.
I'm hoping he doesn't go to far north of 60 points this year so we could afford him. I know people don't think so but I'm worried if the captain plays and plays well he might push 70. I know i know I'm off my rocker, and i also see Hagel pushing 40 this year

I could see Hagel get over 40 if he gets some power play time. He’s a smart player and he’s pretty creative.
Kubalik for all intents and purposes is the same size as Sharp. I have no idea how you determine he’s stronger? |

The way he plays the game, goes to the front of the net, battles along the boards, the way he's harassed on a shot and still able to get a quality shot off. He does all these things very well. 2 things impressed me about Kubs last year, playing without a top 6 center and still being able to produce offensively while trying to be a better all around hockey player, is that 2 or 3? Anyways looking forward to seeing how he does this year.
Maybe the word should be tougher hockey player. |

I'm a fan of the kid. However, scoring more goals than Sharp by 25 does not mean he will end up being as good as Sharp at 28. I hope he does, however.

Yeah, no. Make no mistake, I like Kubalik and was impressed with his efforts to become a more complete player but let's not sell Sharp short because of the age thing. Sharp was a better all-around player. Sharp also had a nasty streak. Kubalik is probably a better pure goal scorer whereas Sharp was a volume shooter.

Sharp was 2 inches shorter and 20 pounds heavier and faster. Totally different body type Sharp wasn't lanky. Sharp was 2C in 2010 he could control and skate with the puck. Oh, and Sharp was definitely prettier. |

This is a good assessment, also Sharp was much faster than Kubalik. Per my previous note, I do like Kubalik, hopefully the Hawks extend him without messing up their cap. |

Not at all, but he didn't blossom until 26. Kubs has had more NHL success scoring in less hockey games than Sharp at the same age, just pointing out facts. Nasty streak? Yea okay

I don't think he Kubalik controls the puck or "dominates" play enough to be a top 6 guy at any price. How is that? - rpeters01
I'd let this REAL season into in a SOLO division determine value, but he can tell his story walking if he thinks he can overprices himself.
Theo, I never thought Kurashev as physical or Wise slower, just saying. |

If you're being serious, yes. Montreal has until the 4th (I think) to match. |

From what I've gathered watching his games in Rockford two years ago then with the Hawks this past season, Kurashev comes off as a tough player in that he's willing to go to the rough areas, bulldog his way through if needed, and take a hit to make a play.
And bulldog his way through as opposed to bulldoze. Bulldog as in cut through traffic no matter the size or strength differential. Kurashev is pretty strong yet not going to outmuscle a lot of defenders.
He's not physical in the sense of a power forward like Benn, Tuch, or Killorn but he won't shy away from physicality.
As for Wise, he's definitely not slow. Not a speed merchant either. Agile with good edges. |

If Montreal matches, does it have to be exact, right down to the $20 signing bonus? |

Taking into account that the samples are taken from one site, I am seeing a lot of Habs fans proposing trades on CapFriendly where Montreal takes the Kotkaniemi offer sheet compensation of a 2022 1st and 3rd and flips them both to the Hawks for Strome.
If that happens, you say yes and sign the paperwork as fast as possible. This would be a good way to regain a 2022 1st. It's a late rounder but better than not having a pick at all.
I saw one trade that included Paul Byron and explained how the Hawks could put him on LTIR given his current injury status. |

Yeah, I get that. It can be confusing. I thought he looked good in the playoffs, so I was interested in where he ended up.
Probably, you know how Bettman is. That jerk. |

Hysterical. It's always funny to see how other teams/fans view the Hawk players. There always seems to be this huge gap. It's also funny in that it seems to often be opposite of the home fans (i.e. Kane, Toews suck and someone like Strome is seen as being worth a 1st and a 3rd). |
