Peter’s definitely did what he had to do to get in the lineup but , judging off his career, I don’t really think he understood the point of fighting.

Another part of that conversation that was interesting was that Rivet said to peters and Ray:

"No one ever told us to fight, we did it because we wanted to"

After having listened to Peters for a few years, I don't think that's true of him. He's often talked about how it was his job but he was never excited to fight. I'm not roasting the guy by saying that, I think he just treated it like his job (which it was)

Ray I think took a little bit more pleasure in it.

Haydensons - face punching = eakinsons + face offs

I think the fans get a physical team this season. Hayden can throw em......

Just an opinion

There are many millions of people who should be humble but are not. I think it speaks very highly of Andrew Peters how he has conducted himself in his professional career after being a buffalo sabre.
- lacaprup

He’s just as bad as a radio host as he was a hockey player.

I’d be humble too if I made great money from being terrible in every profession I’ve had.

The questions they ask some of these players should embarrass the city of Buffalo including the fan base

I think that's a good point about Peters. The last year+ he was here he pretty much stopped fighting altogether. Every "fight" became a hugging session.

I think the context isn't necessarily that he wanted to fight to fight, but he wanted to so he could protect his team mates.

That's how I took it. He knew his role. Whether ppl like it or not is irrelevant, the team wanted him to do that, and he did so admirably.

Not that he needed it, but it's truly a testament to how great Dominik Hasek really was. He was able to take a team where Rob Ray was in the lineup on a regular basis to the Stanley Cup Final.

Agreed. Listening now. " he was the last one there and he had his gloves on and his stick" pretty bad.

I don't there's ever been due appreciation outside of Buffalo for how great Dom was. Best 7 seasons ever.

Good post la

Met him at the todd Marchant hockey camp every year.
He would volunteer and speak to the kids.

Very friendly and down to earth.

Wow I just got the context of goose mentioning his contract and not fighting. What a jerk. He's lucky Peters didn't break him in half in the locker room

but can he do the hockey
- SabresFaninIndiana

Are we trying to play " the hockey " this season?

Someone isn't paying attention:

Rookie coach
2nd year harbor center gm
Traded top d
Traded top rw
Let both goalies go / replaced with a 40 year old
Let mccabe ( arguably) 3rd d walk
Not really trying to get any return for eichel to help win now.

No need to do the hockey, just protect our young guys and let them develop without getting destroyed every shift. ☝️

Hockey was different when ray was enforcing, which allowed him to be an asset. Peter’s had his moments but c’mon you gotta admit those fights right after the face off were more of a sideshow.
