Not anymore. I bought the ultimate edition of NHL 2020 and stopped playing in Oct or Nov 2019 because it just sucked. I skipped last year and I doubt I will do this year.

That's the other thing. I figured doing ultimate I might get some decent cards. Best I got was Ovechkin and the rest was filler garbage.
The AI is also poop for the challenges. It literally cheats. I can be dominating a game and the AI decides it's time for my team to skate in mud and just flat out miss passes and shots. My goalie will also go from being decent to letting in 2 goals on 3 shots to end the game in the third. I'm getting mad just thinking about it.
Playing against friends was more fun but the allure of (frank)ing HUT is always too much with the legend/alumni cards.

It really is just like gambling. The amount of money I have seen people spend reading posts on reddit is insane. Saying they spent 1k bucks to "build" Lemieux or Gretzky is pretty sickening.

For the most part I agree. Southpark is pretty much not funny anymore.

I think EA got sued for their star wars multiplayer game, battlefront 2, for this. there were in game upgrades that you could buy that would otherwise take hundreds of hours to unlock. EA is the scum of the scum
