Just to be slightly a homer, but Brian Leetch was a pretty damn good dman. Like Lidstrom, used his brains more than his body. |

I think you can make the case for Pronger in the top 10 but not THE best.
By the time Hedman's career is done, he might enter that conversation.
Lets not forget Al MacInnis and Phil Housley in this conversation. |

This is not an article but click bait. Can't believe I'm wasting my time with this but... taking penalties means you're good? First sign the article was click bait.
How about Nic Lidstrom playing so well that you almost never noticed he was on the ice because there wasn't any panic, need for spectacular recoveries, or cheap shot antics.
Bobby Orr reinvented the position.

Per your reply to that member's listing mentioning 13 alone better higher ranked defensemen than Pronger, I can see that at a minimum, this weekend's NY Metro area's flash flood warnings have taken their toll on you for having Pronger ranked ANYWHERE "in the top 10" list of the best NHL d'men ever.
However, at least your ranking of Pronger was not as ridiculous as the blogger's one having him as the #1 all time best d'man; making your ranking in turn being anywhere from 9 units logically better down to just 1 ranking unit better than his ranking.
Though that blogger's somehow determined #1 ranking made yesterday of Pronger due to him simultaneously being directly struck by Hurricane Henri then while kite surfing in the Atlantic Ocean; prior to it first striking the Northeast mainland this morning. |

Hilarious how (frank)en stupid most of you are, throwing around names of players you think are better than Pronger. He’s a top 10 all timer without any doubt. Possibly top 5, maybe even top 3.
To through out names like Duncan Keith, and Scott Stevens and to be expected to be taken seriously is retarded. Grow the (frank) up. - HonkyTonkMan

Pronger was one of the better defensemen of his time, but definitely not the best ever. I will take Nick Lidstrom over Pronger any day and that isn't even close.
I wouldn't equate a ton of penalty minutes as a good thing in this situation either. Pronger took a lot of bad penalties at bad times. Not only does that give the other team a PP, it takes one of your best players and PK guys off the ice. You can stand up for teammates without taking dumb penalties. |

Robinson was 100% better at all facets of the game.
Orr was arguably the best player in NHL history. - Mashadar
Agree Robinson was better - putting a percentage on how much better is baloney, Orr was the best d-man in history IMO. Niedermayer was also better than Pronger. Orr could skate around an entire team, officiating changes (not rule changes) added to Pronger's (and Chara's) effectiveness. They played during an era when high sticking and cross-checking were called only sometimes. Pronger could only dream of skating around a team like Orr used to.

For me, Lidstrom is #1. He made the game look effortless. He always seemed to be two steps ahead of everyone. |

Bobby Orr! Nuff said. Was a pretty big dude for the time. Pretty good fighter. Would do everything Pronger did plus skate his ass into the ground.
You are terribly misinformed.
On a different note, I'm in Ontario. My vape only runs about 85% THC on average. Can you please let me know your source? OCS doesn't carry anything nearly as good as you have. Thanks!. |

having outlandish or unpopular opinions generates way more clicks and comments. but it would be both sad and hilarious at the same time if this wasn't even done on purpose lol |
