NHL Playoff lack of officiating has allowed players such as McDavid, MacKinnon, Matthews, Crosby to be eliminated early. Clutch and grab and cross-checking are great defensive plays in the playoffs. - winsix
It also allowed players like Crosby, Ovechkin, Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Anze Kopitar, Tarasenko, Kucherov, Stamkos, Malkin and so may more to NOT be eliminated early and win the cup.
Nothing has changed about playoffs officiating since I started watching hockey back in 1992.
Could it be better? Yes. Should it be better? Absolutely.
But great players find a way to win nonetheless.

Matthews is on there again cause Leafs. Video game hockey doesn't sell in the US.
They'll probably put Marner on there year after next. |

I can't believe EA never got Bob Cole to do audio for a game. Just shows how (frank)ed up this world really is. Go Leafs. |

Surprised they didn't put Evander Kane on the cover to cross promo their wagering deals. Build in a Degenerate Mode where you are a player and you have to increase your bankroll through betting. You can try to throw games and everything. I am a (frank)ing genius. |

Good points which I agree with for the most part. It should be better. I really don't like the inconsistencies between playoff calls and regular season calls. Not that it would have made much difference the way the Leaf PP sucked last year.
The other issue I have a hard time with, is the huge financial advantage US teams, especially those in Florida, Vegas, Seattle and Tennesee enjoy. Check out this calculator and plug in a salary of $80 Million (about the cap) Florida, Tampa, Nashville, Vegas and Seattle have about a $13 Million cap advantange over the Leafs based on this calculator. Factor in the cap manipulations that the Lightning pulled off last year, and its not hard to see them being able to field a superior team.

Mike Augello: Matthews gets cover of EA’s NHL 22 - mikeinbuffalo
Hughes, Makar, Kucherov......nope, let's go with the dude from the 2020 cover ....because American, and EA is literally telegraphing that it's just reselling a slightly improved game from the previous version... |

They probably could have even put Adam Fox on the cover. American & Norris winner. |

I've read other things that say there's ways to money manage it so it's actually not that big of a difference where you play. Like giant signing bonus structures the Leafs use. I don't know though. Tampa can suck my balls either way. |
