Looking at the schedule I'm trying to determine when the Hawks will be out of playoff contention. I'm thinking somewhere between October 12 - 13. - DarthKane
You think they’ll be in contention that long? |

I’m with you. And to take it further I’d like Canada to institute a mandate where everyone needs to be vaccinated. Unless of course there a valid provable medical reason for not doing so. This virus will keep mutating and we’ll keep on having to go into lock downs and personally I’m tired of it. The cost in dollars is enormous in health care and in the impact to the economy. Not to mention the worse issue of people getting extremely sick and dying. - paulr
Forgive me for being blunt, but I live close enough to Chicago that I see every weekend healthy people dying, and no one gives a care about it. It's time we live like we do with the flu vaccine (either you want to take it or not), but life has to move on in a normal way. Don't you think they already have 100 or more of the next variant ready to be unleashed? This is the perfect example, give an inch, take a mile.

Yes, but Saad has other good attributes to his game that Stalberg never had. If Saad had decent hands he’d be around $8M or so per year. I like Saad, was hoping he would land on the east coast and not in the western conference, especially on a team like the Blues. - Angotti
I like Saad as well but we've already seen that story, replacing an offensive player (Panarin) with all around guy Saad and Saad did not make up for the lost offense in other ways. I'm far more scared of Tarasenko on the Blues I'll gladly take this move.

In my eyes, nothing will ever beat Blake Comeau trying to drop pass to Mackinnon during a breakaway and completely wasting an opportunity. - Chunk
What about Plaintiff #1 Jack Skille streaking down the right side and rifling one 30 feet wide resulting in an odd man break the opposite direction twice a game? |

Sadly the majority of these deaths happen in the same neighborhoods where thugs takeout other thugs and goes under the radar until a child or some unintended victim dies by accident. Or god forbid someone is killed in a questionable manner by the police then it’s front page news. Until local and state government takes the illegal drugs and conterband and basically forces change nothing will change. People aren’t getting the vaccine just because they want to say no one will force them. The reality is I still percentage of side effects is so small there’s is real reason not too. AS more and more companies force there employees to take it or quit and insurance companies as I’ve read start charging people for the full hospital stays for those who choose not to take the shots will be screwed. Those here who think it’s an outrage to be forced to carry a card as proof really? I think it’s no difference then a drivers license or a passport.
I look forward to going to a hawks game here soon and hopefully in Vegas when they travel there. I believe they will be better this year. BUt it might not enough to make the playoffs |

We'll have a good idea after the quarter mark, i believe i read somewhere typically after 20 games 6 or 7 of the teams who are in playoff position will typically keep it. |

Please don't post something from an idiot like Arnold. Ask him why the Expert Fauci has flip flopped on masks? Just because you study something does not mean you understand it. That is an ignorant comment Arnold made.

Nope. My biggest issue with all of this is that there is no uniformity of rules or enforcement. Whatever the plan is, state it clearly and enforce it as such. I'm fully aware that the league has to deal with the PA, but this should have already been discussed, argued, and agreed to. That they haven't yet, nor have they communicated (to the best of my research), what the rules will be is a joke to me.
Has anyone found anything regarding what the league plans to do if Canada shuts the border again?
I'm sure there are arguments on the other side of this, but to me, if all players, staff, coaches, and anyone expected to be in close proximity to these people (including fane) are required to be vaccinated, then there should be no reason that a player is held out for quarantine.
That is why I've been so interested in the league/PA stance on this. We know that the league wants to mandate it. They've already mandated it for the swaths of people who have little bargaining power. I don't begrudge the PA for holding out if they have a big argument against it, but again, the league (IMO) needs to be clear on the guidelines. - Chunk
Danger of not quarantining - let's say a player picks it up at home from wife or kids and brings it to the rink. Even if vaccinated, with this new variant especially, he can pass it on to his teammates, coaches, etc. If vaccinated, they are also safer, but not guaranteed immune. If it slips past the vaccine protection and infects a player and he responds as Toews did, ending up with long hauler, that would be awful.
Maybe they all sign on for that risk and your approach is what is agreed. However, I'd hate to be that player who inadvertently might have ended my teammate's career.
Definitely not an easy call, but until this leaves the pandemic uncontrolled, still mutating stage and becomes endemic in manner more like the flu (please let that be soon!), I think extra precautions are still warranted.

I just hope all the players treat this with the respect it warrants. Not disregarding it or acting like the entire world is making it up, not only the players but their families as well. |

I was being sarcastic. I think the hawks will do OK. The team is good enough to make the playoffs. I doubt they’ll do much when they get there but I expect they’re just good enough to get in. |

My sarcasm meter isn't broke. lol. They still have a bunch of IFs on the wings. Center is filled with question marks. The defense should be better but they aren't going to help generate any offense from back there and in today's NHL, you need it.
The bottom of the roster of it stand rn is a whole bunch of yeesh. The 3rd pairing and the bottom 6 is nothing but a whole lot of hope it happens.
Now, IF they can get surprise performances from 5-6 guys, then yeah, they might make the POs. |
