I got bass as the third kicker behind the chiefs and baltimores
- homiedclown

That seems about right.

Bill's are gonna score some points.

Homer drafts , bass will probably go 1 or 2.

How is proof of play going to work when the Sabres do not want Eichel anywhere near the team?
- kingcong39

Then trade him now for a '22 2nd, King Henry, and '23 4th.

They will have to prove it out somehow...Olympics, as was mentioned by another poster and reinforced by me a page or 2 back would be the beginning..if they play in the Olympics.

Else, get that poopty of a return.
I know Adam's took some shots to the jogging while playing, he can't be that stupid can he?

not sure who was more of an off-field/rink douchebag...

and kelly lost to backups jeff hostetller and *trumpets flare!* mark rypien

- Michael Pachla

I really didnt like Kelly the player. Absolutely feel like Frank Reich would have been even keel and won at least 1 of the superbowls. High risk plays, when all 11 players were basically better than each player on defense. Kelly didnt need to be throwing the ball into triple coverage.

Looking back and seeing the kyle Orton's, tyrod, petermans, Collins and Edward's options have made me reflect on how good kelly really was. Especially the leadership and determination. #Buffalo.

Met kelly and greg bell when they just came to buffalo. They were signing paperwork and my mom's office and she tipped me off. Rode my bike up and met both guys and got autographs. Both really nice guy's.

Met kelly a handful more times.
Always very genuine and really a buffalo icon.

He brought more than the onfield play. The Older I get, the more I understand the intangibles.
That's why I've been blaming eichel for years.

Why go right to hyperbole with the bolded?

Is the following really a poop return for a player everyone knows is being traded?

- McTavish, 2022 top 10 protected 1st turns into an unprotected 2023 1st, Perreault, Dostal

You're acting like I suggested the garbage you started your response with.

eichel had gionta, ror and pommer to work with

he just didn't get what being a captain entails

part of that is on the coaches and gms

he was too young to be captain IMO

- homiedclown

Good post

Also had legwand and moulson.

He hung out with the "fun" guys. Bogo, ek9 , sam, mccabe.

Wish ror didnt dwi a tim hortons.
He would has been captain

rypien smoked them

skins up 37-10 mid 4th quarter
ricky ervins torched them on the ground
clark and monk owned our db's

kelly had 6 turnovers

that was a long drive back from minnesota

- homiedclown

My wife and her family were there as well. They have some great stories about that whole road trip, but yeah the bills got torched in that game. I was only 11 but I still remember the Hogs

I am taking chiefs kicker if I can in every draft

mostly due to late bye week

if bass had the bye week in week 12, I would have him ranked first

Interesting, could you explain the importance of the bye week?

Is he more rested?

hold onto that extra roster player for a few more weeks, if keeping kicker

I always have my d and k on different bye weeks, and I prefer to have them later in the year

Don't take it personal...unless you are in fact Kevyn Adams. You said the Sabres don't want Jack near the locker room...which virtually eliminates Proof of Playabilty. I would view that as a critical component to getting fair value for the player who is currently damaged goods with a relatively serious injury.

That trade on a quality / quantity scale leans more towards quantity IMO. I'm NOT saying it is horrible as it isn't...but their best prospect is not part of the trade. That is my issue as I stated before, they have to get a so,I'd 1C prospect. I don't see McTavish as that. Also, do we know that is what was offered, or some poster on a hockey board?

So nothing personal at you specifically...rather at the Sabres for once again putting a self imposed limit on the value of a prime trade chip.

A couple of Ducks fans wondered if McTavish was signed so quickly due to being a part of an Eichel trade.

I would argue that what I proposed is close to as fair a value as the Sabres are going to get for Eichel.

I don't believe the Sabres are getting the best prospect from any team for Eichel, even if he was fully healthy and producing, and it's due to the very public divorce between the Sabres and Eichel.

If they got a top 3 pick next year that player could be better or as good as Eichel why take on an older, damaged, more expensive version? I wouldn't make the deal if I was Anaheim until after next year's draft lottery or top ten protected.
- GilPerreault11

make it top-3 protected and defer to an unprotected 2023 1st rounder?

good post...however, i'm leaning more towards the sullivan take from that piece--that jim and jack are very similar in demeanor and really didn't/don't get buffalonians

I agree with that take.

Maybe it's an age thing? These guys are pampered superstars from 10 years old.

Although my son and I met eichel (when he was roughly my age of meeting kelly) and eichel (at the arena/ his work , during a game at the gold carpet) He was indifferent. Complimented my sons friend on his N/A eichel Jersey. Took a few pics, the minimum.

We were never going to win that game - since the refs were obviously bought. I firmly still believe this. I remember thinking as the half ended, "WTF is with these refs ? They'be been bought !" - and in my mind, I'm like "of course they've been bought...it's Washington - and a LOT of important people in Washington needed to see them win". And then they showed Marv Levy running after the ref as they're all headed to the locker room, screaming "YOU'VE BEEN BOUGHT ! YOU'VE BEEN BOUGHT !", confirming what I suspected.

Hard to win when you're playing against a team, AND the refs.

Giants game ? We got outcoached.
Cowboys ? Blowout and then we gave it the ol' college try - no dice.

But that 'Skins game ? No way were we winning that - even before it started.

(Side-bar : I'm NEVER one to complain about the refs. I take their suckiness to be just part of the game. My entire life, I've said "the refs sucked in the past, the present, and will suck in the future". But I've never seen a whole ref squad scheming against another team - until the 'Skins Superbowl).

i don't remember the particulars of the game but i do remember that they seemed to think the game would be handed to them because they were great and they'd barely missed the lombardi trophy the year before...they weren't there mentally, as proven by thermal not knowing where his helmet was to start the game, and the disciplined redskins danced all over their inflated egos
