Ek didn't say anything about being a back-up. He reported that Lundquist at 80% would be exactly the kind of starter Edmonton needs. And this was coming from one of his good sources.

If hank wants to play, he has earned that right with his career. Goalies can still perform later in their careers, but I don’t see hank as an upgrade to Smith on the oilers if I’m being honest. And if hank wants to win a cup he won’t go there.

I can see hank potentially with Boston backing up ullmark. That would be his best chance at a cup. But if I remember correctly that might not work for Boston since they have this kid in the farm
That will most likely take the back up duties this year.

Outside of Boston, maybe Pittsburg or Washington give him a chance. But they have as much chances of winning the cup as Edmonton currently.
