Oh, that war, I forgot about it because I honest to God have not seen even a single Confederate flag since I moved out of New York as crazy as it sounds... But I meant 'foreign' war, specifically. Well. The Confederates did secede and commit treason, so technically they were a foreign country that we went to war with.
What would I do without you, bandit? You're always the first one to call out on my discrepancies.

There were others as well, The Mexican American war immediately springs to mind. The Japanese occupied some Aleutians in WWII and a few coastal attacks as well as their fire balloons, the Germans technically invaded too when a handful of Kriegsmarine sailors landed on Long Island with a bunch of explosives ready to sabotage poop, but unsurprisingly they didn't make it very far.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head. |

You know there’s not much going on in the NHL when outlets have to drum up stories, from the player with maybe the most cringe provoking stint in sabres history, just to generate buzz.

There were battles and skirmishes, but my point was that no long-term war with a foreign country was actually fought on American soil - most of what I have read/been taught says as much... The Spanish-American war was hardly a war, we basically sabotaged our own munitions ship in the Caribbean so we could invade the Phillipines and then said oh crap sorry Spain, here is 30 million dollars.
The Mexican-American War was fought over disputed land, technically.
The ongoing Indian-American wars were obviously on stolen land and clearly a genocide and not an actual war - ethnic cleansing.
The Civil War is considered to be a war with ourselves by most accounts. |
