I said it when Pelech elected for arb...his lack of offense likely would have hurt him in the hearing. It's not as easy to slap a price tag on intangibles because you can't really pick another player, draw a linear comparison, and say "well this guy does X and Pelech does it about the same so he should get about the same money"

Trouba making $8M and has averaged .1ppg more in his career than Pelech

.42ppg vs. .32ppg

Difference is about 34pts over an 82gm season for Trouba vs. 26pts for Pelech and Pelech may be the top shutdown defender in the league

I’d say the fact Pelech took an obvious discount from his market value is yet another indicator #Isles are working on something big.

I'd be ok with Johnny Hockey. Depending on what we'd have to give up of course. Although I'm not sure we need another LW. He's got one more year at $6.75m aav, so it's not too bad. Reckon we'll see how it all shakes out.
