You say you didn’t say that?
“ Wow man an over the hill vet signs with the flyers. Impressive. No other team guaranteed him what the flyers did imo.
The flyers failed in free agency this summer.”

Hexy, you've not considered the effects of a flat cap world and teams being forced to jettison good players. Look no further than TB for this to be true. - Letterkenney
But they have been sending players out via trade and getting assets back for the most part. |

I always liked to hear Brian Boucher's commentary during games. He talked about how a goalie bases their angles and focus on the play based on the d in front of them. If there is that trust between goalie and d, then Hart and Moose aren't cheating or focused on anything else but stopping the puck. Yes there were bad goals against last season. I think better team d and having that trust will help tremendously. It should give Hart a boost in confidence. - cdearth23
This is EXACTLY what I am saying. Thank you (and Boosh haha) |

I don’t know if it’s Philadelphia that some players don’t want to come too. I honestly think guys simply have way more options. The Flyers still are viewed as a first class organization. If that ever changed I would share your concerns, but at this point that hasn’t happened. Not every FA has to be a home run. Jandle is a solid, no risk signing. At 900 k he ain’t blocking any young player. |

As in “The sky is falling”.
They will compete for a cup. I like to believe in the changes they made are going to work out. It makes it fun as a fan.
Let’s go win a cup Philly!😎 |

It is my opinion that we don’t need A tough guy. I believe we need a tougher group. I felt like we were on the right track when we had Hartnell, Simmonds, Grossmann, the Schenn brothers (they could throw to a degree), Even Ray Emery. Hextall changed this culture, which I was never in favor for and I think we’re gonna go back on it sooner or later |

yes they are a first class organization. That isnt in question. There was a time there were only a few of those. That is no longer the case imo. Now you have a few crap organizations and many first class ones. So yes they now have more options. Within those options they are choosing to go elsewhere. That's it.
It has nothing to do with the Yandle signing. It is a no risk cheap 1 year deal. Not an issue.

Not sure how you draw the sky is falling conclusion. We disagree about cup contenders.
Change they made were good moves. Never said otherwise.

Agree, and let’s hope. That team w/ the Shenn brothers, Simmer, and Hartsy was fun to watch. |

Regarding to Yandle
You didn’t nor did I say that you said that. You said no one guaranteed him more then the Flyers in your opinion. This was how you were responding to the Flyers being a destination. And I laughed at you saying that it was reported that he did have better offers and he said he was offed more from other teams. When you say “IMO” that is making up your own narrative. |

Has nothing to do with signing Yandel at 900k.
He did fail. He had a hard on for Jones and would have made a move had he been willing to sign here. He didnt want nay part of phily. Had to overpay a tad for Risto (no problem with that deal). Had he been able to get a free agent he could use those assets down the line later.
Bill said they went after Stephan and he didnt want to come here. Why is it hard to accept the flyers are just not a destination any longer like in the past? - hello it's me 2050
So Chucks Free Agency grade has nothing to do with Yandle signing...... Huh? Shouldnt you count that in what he has done in FA. I cant follow your logic |

Part of the Jones “hard on’” involved that contract…I really like Jones but that’s a big, big commitment and in my view is an over pay. One that really really could hurt them. Again with Stephan, it’s not black or white….it’s partly fit. Where would Stephan fit in ? 3rd line tops…I still hope Fletch isn’t done. I hope for a little more physicality to be added up front, unless NAK decides to fill that role with more consistency and responsible. |

agreed ,.Hextall sucks, was ok at getting better AHL players though. He never had a pulse on the culture or team fit. If only they got rid of him sooner. |

I am glad Jones didnt want to come here for that overall price. That is a lot.
Stephan to me 3rd line center. His spot to lose had he come here. I cant see him being top 2 center in Carolina. He has played some wing i think but not 100% sure.

Not bitter in any way. Not wrong as the validity of my statement is right in front of you. Am I supposed to be impressed the flyers signed a #6 dman who is on his last legs? Sad this is what flyers fans have come to accept.
It is a fact many of the top free agents didn't give the flyer the time of day. Why do you think that is? Flyers struck out in free agency. Surely you have an opinion as to why so please share. Dude.
Aggressively sought after. Can you define your definition of aggressively sought after please. - hello it's me 2050
Well I think yandle is the perfect final D for this team. He has a track record of success, albeit he was over paid. He is a perfect power play QB as well as an excellent mentor to the young kids. I think it's an awesome signing by CF!
All in all I am very happy with the upgraded D. And we have so many forwards that it's forcing the kids to earn a spot, which I like.
am looking forward to this upcoming season[/img] |

Yeah, I liked Jones but that is a big AAV to swallow with the flat cap. The Ellis deal is much better in my mind. Really happy about that trade. |

Add in the cost to acquire him as well. Scared to think what the GM would have give up had he want to sign here.

The upgraded D is going to make an impact. This team is better built with the back end being shored up.

Exactly….I do think some get fighting and physical toughness mixed up. I do think Wade Allison can also help in that regards going forward. |
