I'd love to hear your reason as to why the Penguins don't seem to be able to attract top tier, or value free agents

Got anything?

Because they never have the cap space to do so. It requires a lot of room to bring in top tier guys. Also, the Penguins have had their top 6 forward spots set for a long time. Not everyone wants to come to play 3rd line here, where they can play 2nd or 1st line elsewhere.

As for value free agents... who was a value free agent they should have grabbed this year?

If Pittsburgh was really a desirable place to come Saad and Coleman would have signed here for $1M each!!!!

Well he says he isn't, but then he says all these FA's that can fit under the cap just slip away, so he clearly doesn't even know what he's talking about, so in addition to his reading comprehension issues he doesn't grasp the idea cap/asset management.

Trying to sell a forward to come here for less salary only to play 3rd line minutes and 2nd power play isn't going to work. That's why Pittsburgh hasn't been big free agency players. AND THATS A GOOD THING.

That is so true. When was the last player signed first day of free agency who made a huge impact on the team winning Cups? Hossa is the best I could do! Chara but that took five years.

So, remember when Minnesota signed Parise and Suter to 7.5mil per year contracts? We wouldn't be able to do that because we already had big contract players. When we have Sid, Geno and Letang this whole time and also for the bulk of time Fleury, and also having guys like Staal, Kunitz, Kessel etc.. how could we sign FA? When we signed Gonchar, Palffy, Leclair and Recchi back in 2005 Sid, Geno, Staal, Letang and Fleury were on ELCS. Once that ended it's pretty much game over. Believe me, other teams would give up signing those big free agents if they could have what we had easily because they are better players than those free agents.

Helm and Nielsen lol. And to think the guy signing those got a new job. And that doesn’t even include the abdelkader and dekeyser deals.

I think it's the right move. Murrary and jarry have faltered with him a the goalie coach. Also if you aren't going to get a new goalie, have to do something.

I think that sounds incredible. Goat cheese is amazing, I always liked the honey goat cheese or the blueberry goat cheeses at the store.
