She also alleged in other posts that he was gambling on his own games.

The league says it is investigating, but good luck with that.

I hate women so much, I didn't like a hockey blogger who had one blog post of her filming herself watching a hockey game, and had a regular v-blog of her getting drunk and rambling about hockey.

I remember you taking a ton of heat for that.

Wasn't Dr. Lums on the opposite side of that? Or was he arguing with a different misogynist?

Yep, but nowhere in this post is anything about throwing games. We all know what he is but to suggest he tried to change the outcome of a hockey game requires some sort of proof,
No?

- bobbyisno1

There will absolutely have to be proof that he gambled on his own games in order to hold him accountable for that action. Right now he is not being held accountable for that action.

The fact that he is an unrelenting POS that his teammates have hated everywhere he's ever played since the CHL is sort of a telling fact. You don't need that type of person in a locker room or on a team. There are all sorts if massive Richardholes playing in professional sports who keep their Richardholery to being arrogrant condescending wieners, but they are still apparently decent teammates and good players.

When you cross the line into abuse or being an ass in general, that's a problem that a team should avoid.

Had a fun chat a while ago about how future politicians will need to be raised from birth to become them or just have the connections to have anything erased from history. Every single internet provider/service is recording everything you do and kids are on there from 3ish onwards nowadays. Imagine running for MP and somebody happens to "leak" that time you were on HB and hated women (Wedginator)?

Yeah, Lums went full white knight on that one.

And pretty sure Wedgie is the only misogynist on this site.

Quote from Wikipedia: (let's just assume it has some validity)

Personal life
On July 1, 2016, Kane was sued by a 21-year-old woman who accused him of assaulting her in the hotel room where he lived. According to court documents, the woman alleged that Kane "met her in a bar, invited her to what he said was a party and then attacked her, causing cuts and bleeding that required multiple surgeries."[56]

On August 1, 2016, Kane pleaded not guilty to one count of criminal trespassing and four counts of non-criminal harassment after confrontations with four separate people at a downtown Buffalo bar in June 2016. At that time, Kane was a member of the Buffalo Sabres. According to a police report, Kane became involved in a fight with a bouncer at a bar called Bottoms Up, after allegedly grabbing an unnamed woman by the throat and attempting to force her into a car outside the nightclub. A second police report alleged that, in a separate incident, Kane grabbed a woman by the arms inside the nightclub and attempted to force her outside. Kane surrendered to Buffalo police in late July 2016. Said Sabres GM Tim Murray of the incident, "Whether he has done these things or not, or he's guilty of these things or not, it's not something I like getting up in the morning and reading about, that's for sure." The incident came after another incident in February, in which Kane was suspended by the team for missing a practice after attending the NBA All-Star Game in Toronto. GM Murray noted that Kane's off-ice behaviour has been very negative for both the player and the Sabres' organization. The Bottoms Up case was later adjourned and dismissed. Referred to as an Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal, a case can be adjourned for more than six months and after a set period of time, the charges are dismissed if the defendant can display and maintain good behavior.[57][58]

On March 14, 2019, Kane announced that his wife Anna had a miscarriage at 26 weeks, a daughter they named Eva.[59]

On November 4, 2019, Kane was sued by The Cosmopolitan casino in Las Vegas after he walked out on a half-million-dollar gambling debt. The suit alleged that Kane had received $500,000 in gambling markers from the casino in April while the Sharks were in Las Vegas for a playoff series against the Vegas Golden Knights. Such markers are essentially lines of credit which allow casino guests to continue gambling, and those extended to Kane were dispursed in eight separate installments, ranging in value from $20,000 to $100,000. The suit claims that Kane left the casino without making arrangements to settle the debt. The casino sought full restitution plus repayment of legal fees associated with the lawsuit.[60]

On June 8, 2020, Kane co-founded the Hockey Diversity Alliance, alongside former player Akim Aliu, to address intolerance and racism in hockey.[61]

On July 3, 2020, Kane became a father with the birth of his daughter, Kensington.[62]

On January 11, 2021, Kane reportedly filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy in California after amassing $26.8 million of debt.

Question one - Just from the 2016 history when Kane was a Sabre - Why would any team want this player?

Question two - Do you think that just maybe, Kane is a flight risk knowing that he has $26.8 Million in debt and his current contract he is owed $26M total over time which will not cover the gambling debt, never mind legal fees and potential law suits?

Question three - is it reasonable to believe that Kane's estranged wife and child are in need of financial support which he has failed to provide?

Question four - what is the over/under on the number of NHL games Kane will play moving forward?

1: There's always a team willing to bet on a very talented player with a troubled past. And since Kane is a very good player, he found takers.

2: He's definetely a bomb ready to blow up in your face.

3: I can't judge him on that particular fact, but let's just say it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt considering his history.

4: Really depends if he did gamble on NHL games... or if they can prove it. If he did, he'll never play a NHL game again. If not, he'll play again.

All of that ^^. Assuming he did not gamble on the NHL, he is eligible to play and deal with and work through his problems as would any addict of any other substance providing that he is getting and his treatment and working on his care. I just wouldn't want him on my team. If I'm a tweener team and the playoffs were a potential for me, then the risk of an Evander Kane might be worth it for the potential playoff revenue. . . but if you're a successful team with a happy group of players, stay away from that hornet's nest.

My daughter came home from a presentation in her junior high school a few years ago - apparently "spy agencies" like CSIS are terrified, because with kids on social media posting their faces everywhere, and with facial recognition technologies, you will not be able to have any agents with fake identities.

Agree with all of your responses.

Although, #4 to me seems less likely as the shiit storm hits. Don't think he can be trusted by any team/players after this...which was my earlier point...better be true because he's screwed either way now. Totally tainted.

At this point, don't think his wife would wreck his financial life and shoot herself in the foot, that's the one reason why I'm leaning more and more towards it's true.
