Eichel's value in a trade is only worth what teams are willing to pay. We've known for weeks that Adams' asking price was around three or four 1st rounders (or equivalent) and no one has bit. From what I've read, no team has seen Jack's medical records. After missing most of the previous season, and having a very public disagreement over the nature of recovery, I feel like medical records should be one of the very first thing discussed in trade talk. It's almost like Kevyn Adams is hoping teams would blindly agree and he'd make out with a "treasure trove of assets", but no GM asking about Eichel has been stupid enough to fall for that. It's been weeks since the off-season trade talks and no one has bitten, that should tell you something. Who do you think would give four 1st rounders for a player who more than likely will miss time this season, and maybe even the whole season if there's a rough surgery/rehab? Adding to this, Eichel skating =/= Eichel ready for a full contact NHL game.
That said depending on the actual nature of Jack's injury, if I'm Minnesota I'm offering THREE of Kahkonen (Sabres need a goalie and Wild have Jones and now Wallstedt in the pipeline), Fiala, Greenway, and a 1st. Maybe all four if Buffalo retains salary, but again it all depends on how bad the injury is. Adams is trying to bluff something here and exactly zero people are falling for it. |
