The leverage Buffalo has is that he is under contract for the next 5 years. IF you would like Jack Eichel to play for you during that time period, the Sabres determine what an acceptable trade looks like, not the Rangers, not the Bruins, not the fans, not Jack Eichel.

Seriously, you sound like someone in fantasy hockey that asks about a player, tells the other manager how you wont give up much for him, because of yada yada, and yada. Give a list of players you wont trade for him, and then tell him how you'd still be willing to work out a trade for that player.

You don’t trade that used Ferrari away for a Taurus. We don’t really know what GMKA is declining but we do know that it’s been reported as low ball offers.

But he has a full NMC kicking in in less than a year. Look at every trade that has ever been done when a player has a NMC and can pick what teams he wants to go to, and you will see that the package is significantly less because the team can only negotiate with a handful of teams.

And again, do you really want to have Eichel in that lockerroom for the next 5 years? Cozens, Luukkonen, Quinn, and the potential number 1 pick next summer...do you really want all them exposed to Eichel when Eichel clearly wants nothing to do with the Sabres? It has the potential to literally ruin all your top prospects that you've worked to obtain over the last few years.

My personal point of view is ......... the NTC literally does not scare me at all. I dont get the big hype around it. If eichel wants out .... he will accept a trade to the coyotes if he has to.

If eichel demands " TRADE ME TO BOSTON" and doesnt want to budge. Then I keep him on the roster for the next 4 1/2 years and let him play it out.

Again, Eichel has no leverage at all.
