Thought you were talking about free agents? All players are diff some want one others do not care.

Why wouldn't Yandle count? As I said that isn't a big deal.

- hello it's me 2050

I was talking about signings. FA or resigned does it matter? The point is, someone in here wrongfully stated that the Flyers give them out like candy and that is demonstrably false.

And sure, technically Yandle got an NMC, but as you said its no big deal.

I was reading an article grading the the Flyers 3 big trades this off season. Here are my grades for these trades. What say you all?

1. Ellis for Myers, Patrick: A
2. Risto - 2021 1st round pick, 2023 2nd round pick, Robert Hagg: B-
3. Atkinson for Voracek: A+

- jd250

Find that hard to believe, most folks in media/journalism eviscerated the Risto trade . I’d go B+ / C / B-

Not technically he did.

Movement clauses are negotiated by the player and require the player to waive them. Only players that are 27 or older or have 7 accrued seasons are eligible for No Trade or No Movement clauses. NTC means the player cannot be traded without approval.

So in those cases he couldn't give them out.

Do you think it will get in the way of the Flyers moving him at the end of the season, or after the season?

If you say so.

How many of his “stats” were from pp?

Also… can move g back to center 3c if frosty not ready.

G biggest value is as pp specialist. No need to have him strictly at wing anymore

- Stayin alive

I’d be good with him as the 3 c. As long as his wingers can skate. Laughts and Allison.

Well how many contracts has he signed that meet that criteria?

Hayes
Braun
Yandle
Laughton?

As you say, irrelevant. There are only 2 on the whole team. Very candy like....I guess.

So he has signed 4 players who were free agents currently on the roster. 50% have a NTC. Is that a good % in your opinion?

My bad Yandle doesn't count right?

Cf should not sign Risto unless he is solid and then I would try a decent insentive laden contract.
I am sure there are cap implications no matter what but I have seen it to easy where players get comfortable and do the bare minimum mentally and physically.
It’s human nature and it’s not easy to overcome home priorities with professional priorities.
The guys that are better at balancing both are more consistent in their game.
Maybe all teams need a team of sports psychologists.

You asked me a question. I asked you a question back with more detail. You didn't answer said question.

Your question is irrelevant to "coots" as you specially asked about Bergeron and should boston resign him. I will answer your question yes they may look to resign him for 2 years at a reduced rate or at best the same. Boston however doesn't seem to have an issue letting players walk no matter who they are.

- hello it's me 2050

What Bergeron will get this time is irrelevant, what he got prior, accounting for inflation in salaries since, is relevant. Both players are known as two way players, always in the Selke conversation. So if Coots does get 8 years how old will he be when it ends? Is that 36 ish? I see no reason why Coots will not provide similar value that Bergeron has for the term of an 8 year contract. The only way he does not is if they don't give him the right wingers.

No, they arent -- they are linked -- if ghost is not moved there is no cap space to take on rr
- corduroy

so if they don't sign Risto and sign someone else are they then attached to the Ghost trade?

Very well could see a setback with their young goalie too, who is the #2 there?

Was Boston a contending team when they gave him his deal?

We disagree as I do not think he will age well. At some point sooner than later that contract will be bad.

They’re not linked.

And if you want to link them and call RR a rental, then finish the deal. Your being disingenuous otherwise.

Add 10m in cap space to the one side for when the rental skates off. It’s kind of a big piece.

Ghost and the picks weren’t traded for nothing. They were traded for cap space. If Risto leaves, the same applies.

Add those to your equation. They have a value. A significant one.

don't recall but didn't they have to play 40 year old Anderson in the PO's I could be wrong.

I think most teams have a chance to win, most are not Buff or the Yotes. All need goaltending and all need luck with injuries.

How many goalies today in the NHL are the guaranteed X factor? Vask in Tampa is the only who has proven he is the X factor in todays game.

Claude Giroux - Sean Couturier - Travis Konecny
Joel Farabee - Kevin Hayes - Cam Atkinson
James van Riemsdyk - Scott Laughton - Wade Allison
Oskar Lindblom - Nate Thompson - Nicolas Aube-Kubel

Interesting that you are willing to go with accepting Giroux isn't an NHL center (after multiple coaches thought he was), but you stick with Laughton at center after four different NHL coaches concluded he wasn't. And is putting TK back on the top line another reflex (I mean, he keeps sliding down the order) or a plan to make him seem better as trade bait?

Assuming nobody else leaves in a trade:
Claude Giroux - Sean Couturier - Joel Farabee
James van Riemsdyk - Kevin Hayes - Cam Atkinson
Oskar Lindblom -Eventual 3C acquisition or Laczynski- Travis Konecny or Frost
Scott Laughton - Nate Thompson - Nicolas Aube-Kubel or Frost

Bergeron also had a cup and 2 selke awards under his belt when he signed his deal. Scored 57 points in 77 playoff games up until that point (.74 ppg). Couturier is 22 points in 39 playoff games (.56 ppg).
