He wouldn't be wrong about it though. Bedard is special and I don't think Michkov is far behind him. - eichiefs9
I think both those guys are too, though I remember how Hughes was supposed to be the bees knees and while solid, he's kinda underwhelmed so far. Just never know how these guys perform.

I don't think Hughes was ever held in the same regard as Bedard (or Michkov, but it's probably closer to him than he was to Bedard).
Bedard is the real deal, maybe not quite McDavid but not so far off. He put up just about 2ppg (and almost a goal per game) as an underager in the shortened WHL season this past year. Also put up exactly 2ppg in the under-18's this year too. He's going to be a stud. He'll be the most talented first overall pick since McDavid by a country mile.

Hughes/Kakko wouldn’t have even cracked top 5 in last years draft clSs

His draft year he wasn't, but I thought that the year before he was thought of pretty highly.
What becomes interesting IMO is if Buffalo gets him. Where before Eichel would have all the leverage, you wonder at the point if that would flip if they get another franchise level center. Also, if magically they would make amends now that they have somewhat a supporting cast

So we should expect Pittburgh to tank next year? Got it.

I'd rather see Buffalo get him than Arizona. Buffalo has been pathetic for quite awhile now, but the Coyotes are an embarrassment to the NHL. They deserve nothing. I hope they don't end up with Shane Wright either. It'd be criminal to have to send a top young talent to a trash organization like that one.

It's hard to believe there was a period of a few years where they were competitive. The sooner the league moves them to Houston, the better. At this point, I'm not sure what will turn them around. As bad as Edmonton was for years (and still some extent is), it's just that much more bleak there.

Max Domi on the block, not sure JD does business with us though - nyrangers9479
He’s really not that appealing.
Word is with his injury, he isn’t going to play until maybe December, and then he’s a UFA after the season. Doesn’t have a whole lot of time to prove he’s worthy of an extension.
He’s a center that plays with an edge. I think he’d be a perfect fit for what we’re trying to build. - nyrangers9479
Its not the kind of edge that were looking for on this team. Hes reckless and careless. Just cause hes a C doesnt mean we need to drop everything and go after him.
