Just saw that, I have no idea who the hell is going to be filling Leddy's spot

1yr, $2M...that would've been perfect

Yup.

Kinda at a loss now, so far as free agents are concerned.

I have no doubt something is going on but why not sign Murray anyway unless Murray was only signing for this type of money with Colorado?

Oh I’m sure they tried, but it’s not like the Avalanche are any less a Cup favourite.

Murray will also put up better numbers on Colorado which helps Murray during next year's free agency. Have to think that was the biggest factor for Murray.

I don't doubt that. I am wondering if the deal will be closed.

Does a Bailey for Dunn trade straight up make sense? I think long term for the Islanders it does. Fans will have to come up with new chant.

Since we've heard very little to nothing from Isles camp, I'm going to throw this out there. Per Capfriendly, as it sits right now there are 7 teams that are over the cap. I'm wondering if one of the irons Lou has in the fire is working with one of those teams to obtain a defenseman. Trying to finalize the numbers before announcing official signings. Just a thought.

Not nervous, no. Anxious to hear what all the deals ended up being and growing pretty confused as to what options Lou has to plug the hole on defense, but I have no doubt the man has a plan and I'm more than happy to let it play out.

I could still see de Haan being the target if Chicago would retain some money. Outside of that I'm not sure who would be moved off any of those teams that either the team would part with or we would actually want. But if it's de Haan then they'll have to have some sort of halfway decent 7th dman option because there's a real risk of injury with him

De Haan aka De Hurt could be a decent option like you said.
