seems if OTT wants a vet C with a 1-2 year contract all the lefts is the trade market. frankly would like dorion to get his thumbs out of his ass and start signing some of OTTs RFAs....

Certanly makes you wonder. He barely played in Montreal so when the arbitrator looks at his numbers, you got to wonder what Mette was thinking.

I saw that too. Very promising to see. Maybe Sanderson can join the team and help them with the playoff push at the end of the year.

Similar to last year when Pinto and JBD, they got to be with the team to end the season, I see the same thing happening this coming season with Sanderson.

Henrique, Hertl, Kadri and Monahan all have NTC and I'm sure that the Ds they're targeting are in the same situation. Why would they wave to come to Ottawa in a trade unless they're desperate (Henrique). But I'm not worried Dorion will bring in more garbage so that DJ has his toys to play with. |

He was put on waiver last season. The Ducks then said they would retain part of his salary when the trade deadline hit. They were so desperate to unload him.

In Hertl and Kadri's case they are in the last year of their deal. What better way to get a bigger payday as a UFA by playing top 6 minutes in Ottawa and padding the stats?

In the past 2 seasons I can't think of any top 6 veteran F acquisition having any success in DJ's program although the grunts that they add do very well. So why would quality players want to come here and underachieve before negotiating their next contract. |
