Is there any reason why the Sabres cannot advise Eichel and his agent that they can proceed immediately with the surgery of his choice?

Once the surgery has been completed the situation can be reevaluated (after Christmas).

After the surgery, teams will want to see evidence that there is not continuing long term damage.

Sometimes the best way to short circuit a fraud is to let it play out knowing the fraudster counts on your trying to overcome the threat rather than play into it.

Let me ask you this.

If you had something super valuable to you (or your franchise) would you want to do something that has never been done to any asset like it before?

I think there is significant concern of the long term effects of it.

This is where I am as well.

If you need this surgery, you're sure as hell not playing pick up hockey

- Stripes77

Nope.

An accidental trip where you smack your head on the ice wouldn’t be good for a fella with a bad neck.

Or

A slip into the boards.

There’s a million things that can go wrong in a pickup game of anything. Once the competitive juices start flowing, a two hand touch pick up game of football turns into tackle really quickly.

If the Sabres were done with Jack that they said, "We're not paying you anymore for the term we signed you for." then yes, Jack would be in the right. That's not honoring a contract.

If the Sabres after next July say, "We're buying you out or sending you to X team that you didn't authorize despite your NMC" that's not honoring a contract.

If the Sabres say, "Jack we are going to shop your contract to another team that will honor the deal you signed with us this year because there is no provision in the contract saying we can't do that until next July" that is honoring the contract.

So trades are not breaches of contract or honoring them.

- gcomella34

Fair enough 🤝

Fact of the matter is, if it was in the best interest in the team, they would trade/cut a player in a moments notice.

I’m not blaming a prominent player in the NHL for flexing whatever leverage he has to move to a better situation. It happens in other professional leagues all the time.

Uh huh and it says verbatim what the original poster said

He had issues, didn't last long in the AHL, went back to the KHL and struggled there

"The debacle then really gained steam. Kravtsov also struggled for Traktor, his KHL team, and found himself assigned to the remote VHL minor league – a situation that clearly caught the Rangers off guard, causing them to step in and bring him back to the AHL in December, looking to regain control of their prospect’s development."

Right, that is an option.

You can trade him at the 2022 draft. If you have the stones to wait out the onslaught of questions and interviews, etc.

A year of having to answer questions as GM is worth it if you get the package you really want for him.

"Will Shane Wright be able to do what Jack Eichel couldn't"

....isnt a headline you want being written around Feb-April of next year.

You want Eichel divorced from the entire Sabres brand long before then.

The rangers most recent offer was Kravstov + Jones + Georgiev + 1st

Kravstov is a future top line winger, in my opinion, and Jones and Georgiev seem like they will be in the NHL for a long time but are definitely more “throw ins” as Jones is a middle pairing defenseman and Georgiev could teeter on that fringe starter/career backup line.

For what it’s worth, Kravstov is considered a rangers untouchable.

- rangerdanger94

And there’s the rub. He’s at best, what, the Rangers 10th? 15th? Best asset? When teams are coming to Buf and saying here’s a “list” of untouchables and it’s that deep, of course Adam’s says pound sand. Kratzov’s ceiling is Buch.. or in other words a 2nd and replacement Dman. No (frank)ing thanks.

Start the season off with we will not be taking any questions about Jack Eichel for the season.

Any and all questions will be ignored as this is an in house matter.

Next question.

All any ranger fan knows is that when he played towards the end of the year, he looked as good , if not better than Laf and Kakko

I'm with you there. But I think making one comment saying you request a trade is fine and can get your point across very well.

What Jack is doing now, as you can see from posters here from other teams, is lowering his value even further. This is feeding into the situation negatively because the Sabres can't get raked over the coals....again. At this point, for his benefit Jack should SHUT UP as his actions are directly prohibiting him from getting what he wants.

That is just as unattractive to FA's as keeping him because you look incompetent.

I would almost like to see the org take the Philly approach to TO if it merits it. They rode out that storm but didn't deal with prominent players acting up for over a decade after it provided they didn't go too far.

That’s fair. I just want to note though that people here have said they want Schneider and laugh at Kravstov, but when you list the rangers prospects, Kravstov is our #1 top blue chip prospect in our system.

I am of the mindset now, if they can't get a trade they like, wait

so what if they wait until his NMC kicks in

wait and get what you want

The original poster shared an article thats like 18 months old.

We're not even arguing about the same season Kravstov had right now.
