freidman's podcast on this...am of the belief that a lot good insider information comes from agents...

notice the webmd overview of the doctor...

"Dr. Chad Prusmack, MD

Specialize mainly in all minimally invasive surgical procedures..."

this is anything but "minimally invasive"

Yeah and the timing is fishy…….

Unfortunately not great at this point.

She was able to have two children, but based on her condition from her accident it was really just a last ditch effort to try to give her a decade or two of great quality of life.

She has her good days and bad days. She tough, but it's tough to see her struggle being so young.

I feel for you man. My wife has back issues from a car accident and every day is a new adventure. Where is it going to hurt today? Hopefully it gets better for your lady.

hockeybuzz is probably the last place anyone should go to for hockey rumors, examples of how to live a moral life, or medical advice

You’re not getting a top 10 center for a garage sale price.

You’re team and any other team trying to get Eichel don’t have the luxury of having untouchables.

Eichel is the best player in any deal(the teams rumored to be involved).

You want him?

You have no untouchables and be prepared to lose your top tier assets.

Or

You can see yourself out.

Eichel needs (frank)ing spine surgery. He’s damaged goods.

Stripes77, how is your wife doing post fusion? I have herniated, deteriorating and ruptured disks in my lower back. Unable to do fusion surgery due to my Military commitment, but once I retire, I would consider it... after a lot more research. My saving grace is an inversion table at this point.

If anything I can say surgery on your spine should be a last ditch effort...not something you jump right into

I agree 1 million percent. My wife had the option of fusion surgery since it was a workers comp injury, but her doctor strongly advised her not to. It has gotten better over time, but it’s been 10 years.

That all sounds great but they're not letting Eichel near the roster. They're trading him.

It's entirely likely that Adams overplayed his hand by insisting the Ducks include Zegras, or the Kings include Byfield, etc.

I'm not saying Adams did anything wrong by trying that tactic, but he may have held the line too long in that regard.

- kingcong39

In theory, my post is spot on. You're right to say the application in reality will more than likely not happen.

You are certainly correct stating that KA MAY have over played his hand.

You're right on one thing, part of the reason his value is low is that everyone knows he wants out.

But everyone knew Risto/Rhino wanted out. Look at what happened. For Risto the Flyers did overpay. This despite the fact that everyone knew he wanted out AND many wouldn't touch him because of his advanced stats.

Everyone knows (actually that means heavily rumored) that Rhino wants to sign in the West. Yet, the Sabres still got some value for an RFA despite the fact that team trading for him doesn't know, with certainty, he will resign.

So on to Jack. Jack is a top 10 Center in the league who is injured. His trade value is lower because he wants out and everyone knows it but so did the people above, so what is driving down his value?

1) The fact that he is doing all the public posturing he can throwing the org under the bus. You don't think other org's are weary of that? As soon as there is a disagreement what's he going to do? It's kind of like marrying someone that cheated on their spouse with you.
2) Doesn't seem to be using the appropriate channels first before going public.
3) There are heavy rumors as to his locker room presence, even coming from former players. You can attack that source all you want, but it's still pretty damning.

Jack, through his reps and public communications, is hurting this process even more.

The organization, should take a stand here to say this stuff is not going to be tolerated otherwise you're rewarding any child throwing a temper tantrum. You suffer what you tolerate.

Jack's group IS most certainly NOT approaching this in good faith. They're purposely going the nuclear route to pressure the organization. What fuels that belief, they're not using the appropriate options available to them in the contract.

Jack and the org need to work together in this.

This is more than likely NOT going to happen. I do believe you're right, KA will lower the ask and move him early, but he shouldn't.

And I'm one that believes the org screwed him over under Ralph playing him when he was clearly hurt this year. I get why he's pissed. But it doesn't serve his interests to keep doing this the way he is.

Another Ryan O'Reilly type return to set them back even more?
- Stripes77

I don't think it will be that low.

But its very obvious Buffalo isn't getting a blue chip prospect back in this deal (depending on how you define "blue chip", I guess). Solid young roster players and high draft picks, sure.

But if the teams are say, Anaheim, Montreal, and Minny, it's pretty obvious the Sabres have little to no shot at bringing back a Zegras, Caulfield or Rossi/Boldy.

Buffalo absolutely still has all the power here. You just have to be realistic with what another team will be willing to give up now that Eichel and his camp have created this mystery narrative regarding his back. Every single team the Sabres call or that calls them is going to use the term "damaged goods" and that's just reality.

Just because both parties want him out doesn't mean they will settle for less than what they want.

I want to sell my $300,000 doesn't mean I would take $150,000 for it no matter how badly I want to sell it.

- Stripes77

Can we both agree they don't just want to sell the house, they need to sell the house, right?

Let's price the house at $300K.

If nobody is willing to pay $300K, you have two choices: Take it off the market or lower the price you are willing to accept.

I think we can all agree that they're not taking the house off the market.

That means they need to lower the acceptable price.

How low do they end up having to go is the question.

I don't know.

I put the possibility they take him off the market at about 5%

This is one of those times where you stay stubborn.

Show some backbone.

Eichel’s camp needs to shut the fvck up. The more they talk, the more teams lower their price.

The more the price lowers, the longer crybaby remains a Sabre.

The difference is I don't have a contract signed in place to own the house for 5 more years.

The best deals on houses you can get are from people going through divorce that need to sell the house and split the cash ASAP.

I agree

It shows two things, one Adams is not going to get bullied by a player and his agent, and two other GMs know he isn't just the new guy on the block to take advantage of.

Me and you both know its way past that. Buffalo doesn't want him around just as much as Jack doesn't want to be here.

Could this deal carry into the season? Could Jack sit at home for a month or two? Maybe.

The reality is he's getting traded in the next few days/weeks/months. There are no more "years" of Jack Eichel in Buffalo.
