Taking a cap dump is the better case, no question. But if that cap dump doesn’t give you their best prospect, you may have to consider retaining salary. If not, this may be another ror trade where we end up with scraps

Or, call everyone's bluff.

Jack go vet the surgery of your choice.
Afterwords, come to play to earn a fair return in a desired trade out.

.
Oh, please sign this Legal Release Document that avoids the remainder of the financial obligations in the event the Replacement Surgery, if elected, fails to return you to suitable play condition. We still retain your rights though for the full 5 years.

Would like to be a fly on the wall during any Medical reviews being done. Something just doesn't seem right. Even if Jack had either Surgery in say beginning of May he would have been 2 months into Therapy right know and you would have had a pretty good idea about his health.

Best case scenario here. I think we all know Jack just wants out and is using the surgery as a tool to do so. The reason he’s not getting it is the risk of losing out on $50 million. They haven’t gone to medical arbitration and there’s a reason, they’ll lose.

Edit: The point of me saying all this? We are at a stalemate and are waiting for the party to make a move

Hence why they should throw a 100% of the financial risk on the guy who wants to make that decision despite what the most respected Dr in the world on this issue says the other operation is better. ( why it is better, I'm not sure)

I side with Jack on him getting the medical solution he thinks is best.
I'm on the Sabres side with protection their financial exposure.
There is a way out however.

that's fine...as long as they can get a decent return it shouldn't matter what that team does with him

Boss you still smoking that good good with Rangers fans?

Stop it. f the rags.

Much rather have quick as a dump vs. retain on jack… as an example. At least you could start quick this year.

- Gr8daygo

Flying solo ☝️

I didnt come up with the concept, although I introduced the thought to the board.

We're not "helping" the rags, we're helping the Sabres get the best return possible for our franchise center.

Retain vs. Cap dump.

No loser taking up a spot being miserable
More teams able to take on eichels contract
More teams willing to take a risk on his injury
Getting rid of skimmer (in 2 years) makes this very possible

I do absolutely agree with paying eichel to beat us in the playoffs or them winning the cup on our dime.

That would suck.

Financial concerns would be alleviated

Damage to the franchise would not be.

Bad surgery would = no trade return

Rules in place for the team doctor to decide.
Why break the rules and favor the player?

Meh, a bitter wife saying something about a husband she doesn't like.

Sure a bitter wife would never say anything to hurt a husband.

I prefer to let the facts come one before ruining someone's life.

Not saying its true one way or another but an independent investigation is the way to go.

On a side not Evander Kane sounds a lot like Tiger Woods.

He doesn’t stand out in anyway pretty much ever. Invisible more often then not. To me so far he’s a completely unremarkable player. I’m not saying he won’t put it together at some point but I am saying he hasn’t yet.

On the other hand, you have Kane's track record which includes being a degenerate gambler.
