Outside looking in I think it’s best to just trade him and move on. As a Sabres fan you guys won’t be happy with the return but at this point I think you just take the best deal available. I want nothing to do with him bc of the unknown with his injury but I’m not sure the Rangers see it the same way. If it’s true the Rangers are the only team left I don’t know what the return would look like but it won’t be something you guys are happy about. If you don’t trade him I think he just becomes a distraction and refuses to play. Just my opinion
- nyrangers9479
You dont have an outside opinion. You have the opinion from a team that wants him, and wants him as cheap as possible.

No, the sabres shouldnt just move him for anything. 5 years.

Every single team is offering below market value bc of the injury. It won’t change. Just move him next year when he’s healthy but his nmc kicks in
- nyrangers2

The NMC does not has much leverage if he wants out - especially since his contract lasts 5 more years.

NMC and NTC are more for not wanting to go.

If a team feels he's healthy enough to make a legit offer, Eichel will waive, or wilt away in Buff.

Kratzov, Jones, georgiev, first (will be late) is garbage.

I’m not saying it’s fair value for a healthy Eichel. But given the unknown of how he’s going to recover from his injury and the fact he’s getting $10 million a season in a flat cap market I don’t see who beats that. If I was a BUF fan of course I’d want more, I just don’t think they’re going to get more.

Nah this ain't it

You want Eichel, I get it, but you're not getting him cheap. What's worse, having to answer a few where is Jack questions or answering questions about why you got nothing for him?

Part time pain (uncomfortable questions) for long time gain is a better option here

- Stripes77

Why give him up cheap? Every season this calamity keeps him from playing is a $10 mil ltir coupon.
So, if they don’t trade him they can keep him and play with $10.

Why doesn't buffalo just let him have the surgery. What does it matter now?

You know not having a player anymore if anything goes wrong, which there is always a chance near the spinal chord.

You don’t take a bucket of burglands for a top 10 center. If no one beats that bucket of stink, you LTIR him.

Have an adult sit down (not a media driven back and forth) and either hammer out the the medical or force his hand to take the Sabres to medical arbitration.

He’s not choosing medical Arbitration because he either isn’t hurt as bad as he is saying or he knows he’s lose the decision.

Either way, you don’t trade a top ten center in the league for that garbage offer.

You get him healthy, LTIR him, prove his health and trade him at the start of next offseason.

And when that does happen, you don’t trade him to the Rags, no matter the offer. F the Rags and F Boston, send him west.

Sorry, not sorry, I’m sick of your fan base, your laundry list of untouchables and your acting like your doing us a favor by making the “best offer for injured goods”… F off. Go back to your side of the state.

They might not get that know, but I think Adams gets what he wants when it does happen. And I think if are owners thought anything that Adams is doing was not right, they would have stepped in already.

Take some deep breaths Gr. They are just trying to get Jack cheap. We would be doing the same thing if positions were switched. Eichel has raised a lot of people's blood pressure.

I get it. It’s also annoying.

Here’s 3 bjusteads and 1st… don’t even consider asking for a laf, or chytl, or kakapo, or whoever.

I’ve never liked the rangers as a trade partner. They don’t have the right pieces for what the Sabres need. After the months of incessant “damaged goods” offers and “untouchable” prospects. It’s just enough.

Get this whining douche healthy and get him out of the conference.

I’m not trying to get anything, I don’t want him. I already said it’s not fair value for him but you’re not getting fair value right now due to his injury and flat cap. On top of that there’s only about 3-4 teams that have even been rumored to be interested.

I’d offer Nils as a part of the deal but most of the fan base views him as untouchable. What’s your opinion on Nils Lundqvist?

Understand Bud, it sucks and there's gotta be something else going on hear. Even if he had either Surgery you would have a pretty good suspicion on his health at this time because he would be 3 or 4 months out from. Surgery.

Then they will hold him, they will have him get healthy, he will play and continue to be a top 5/10 center and then the price goes up. It's that simple.

Anaheim
La
Vegas
Calgary
Minnesota
Boston
Carolina
Columbus
And I am probably forgetting a couple that were known to have called on Eichel and I would think a lot more then that checked in

Could Jack go rogue and get the surgery on his own? That likely voids his contract. Would that make him an UFA?

Probably would have to pa back a TON of money.

My biggest issue is the Rangers don’t have the young center coming back that I’d like.

The depth on d isn’t awful for buffalo.
The depth at forward, especially center is weak.

For me any deal for jack starts with Byfield, Zegras, Rossi, Caufield and a 2022 first.

That’s where you start for a top ten, cost controlled, mid-20s, center in the NHL. Full stop.

Is the “injury” hindering that offer, yep, no doubt. Is Jack helping his cause, no he is not.

So you agree on a medical course of action
You LTIR him
You prove his health
You trade him next offseason.

And if I’m Adams, that’s exactly what I tell him and Fish is going to happen.

If fish doesn’t like it, feel free to contact other gm’s, here are the players we would be willing to discuss (1), plus a 22 first (2), plus (3), maybe plus (4).

That’s it… that’s where I’m at. Jack, healthy, with a supporting cast is a top 5 center. He was ranked 6th by his peers less than a year ago. He’s been banged up for 2 years and on poop teams since he started in the league.

He would be a monster in LA with that team around him. He’d look great in minny or Anaheim or Vegas.

I don’t want him in conference because I don’t want to go through him if the Sabres ever get it right. Which Jack could be retired by then and possibly inducted into the hof before the Sabres get it right.

I hope Adams has the stones to hold the line.
