What COULD happen is he stays long enough to get healthy and shows he can contribute in a competitive hockey situation and one of the other teams suffers a blow or falls behind in the playoff race such that their need for Eichel is higher then as compared to now.

If Jack gets healthy comes back, and everyone has their messaging on point, even if it's begrudging on both sides because they want to work out a trade, and he scores a ton of points driving his value up...this situation is over.

Or, if another team decides to pony up today he's gone.

KA is just trying to say, I'll trade him as I want ppl who want to be here, but there isn't pressure to do it in a rush, it has to work for the Sabres.

Any loss here is also more than covered by the Bills profits.... if the goal is to suck in 22, and his NMC starts 11 months from now, then really we have time to wait him out. It hurts him not to play this year more than it affects the long term health of the franchise.

The Sabres are just a plain old trainwreck on this. Give me a break... Eichel is the best players hands down on this roster when healthy. The Sabres wont see his caliber of talent for decades to come. Let this guy do what he needs to do to get healthy and get him back in the lineup. Who gives a crap if he is a bit of a head case. All that matters is what he does on the ice... PERIOD!!!!!

What you should be saying is : "Let's wait 'til he has surgery, see how that goes, then if the surgery was successful, we can talk about trade scenarios again".

In no universe should any fan of any team (or any GM) want Eichel on their roster until his neck has healed. I guess you could discuss trade proposals now, but you should preface it with "after Jack Eichel has successful surgery, we'd like to trade blah blah blah...."

I just can’t see Eichel stepping into the Sabres lockerroom again.

I do think that this could drag on. KA doesn’t have to do anything now, but I think by the trade deadline in February, he’s going to have to take the best offer on the table and move on.
