He could score 4 and they’ll still lose… on my birthday

Low risk high reward move. Solid player when healthy. IF he can stay healthy we could see a HUGE gain on this.

Imagine what he could fetch at the trade deadline when you ship him to a contender?

Ondrej Kase, signed 1x$1.25M by TOR, was shaping up to be an excellent two-way scorer when he got hit by awful injury problems. Low-risk move by the Leafs with a lot of upside if he can get/stay healthy. #LeafsForever

Did he not play at all last year or did he ride with the taxi squad?

He got hurt in the second game of the year and we played him in either the last or penultimate game of the regular season as a tune up.

Dubas and his dart throws.

Cool, I dont hate it but can we also find a real winger though.

Instead of MLB talk this thread....how 'bout this convo...

IF the team lands Ritchie how does the top 6 look...

Matthews and Nylander are good passers and shooters and find each other well, so since Bunting 'can' score...

Since Mitchie needs a body guard and can pass, JT can pass and shoot, Nick can just plow through...SO go with....

Bunting, Matthews, Nylander
Ritchie, Tavares, Marner

Honestly, don't mind that top 6...even though I don't know much about Bunting...it seems a little more rugged and tough.

Thoughts?

Kase? Meh. Decent contract and can fill 3RW just fine (unless hey flip Willie to LW? ew) but would have been nice to add someone who is a bit more difficult to play against and, well, we need a LW ffs.

Still hoping for Ritchie.

If Dubas isn't all over Ritchie he should be tarred and feathered.

That is absolutely a possibility, I never said it wasn't. But Dubas better be finding out....

I read on a different site that Toronto has spoken with Ritchie. Would be a nice add. A big boy who hits people and scores occasionally.

I mean we met with him, so we are doing the due diligence. People are holding Nick Ritchie up like he's some type of golden God. He's decent. His career high 15 goals could probably be 20. He is the type of player that we are lacking so he would be nice to have, but he does not play 2nd or 1st line minutes so far. Sometimes the 3rd liner you get is just a 3rd liner - like Kris Versteeg.

The leafs have Ondrej Kase and Michael Bunting on low cap hit deals and I love both these players quite a bit!

However, I hope Kase can stay healthy a full 82 or 56 what ever we play next year to really develop him into a constant threat on offense either dishing the puck off or putting it in the net him self.

Bunting will probably slot in on a 3rd line bring a new energy and responsible play to that line with Kerfoot. I will be curious to see if he will experimented with on the top line in training camp to see if he is a replacement for Hyman, but I think he needs to add more bulk for that top line role.
