I was also under the impression that the statement sent out had way too many details, but then again I'm not aware of what exactly went down between him the medical staff in BUF
- Pat1993

They never changed there mind about having that experimental surgery, every presser Adams has had since it came out he has said there medical people haven't changed there opinions on the surgery.

Danault looked at the centre depth, and came to the conclusion it would not be long before his minutes were diminishing......Suzuki, KK, Evans, Poehling.....problem with signing in LA is their 1C Kopitar is the equivalent of what Danault brings, and then their kids Byfield and Turcotte are waaay more talented. Danault will be a fourth line centre in two years, or bought out and a FA again.

Clearly, as Kopitar is going to the HOF.......what was meant was Danault's claim is defensive wizard, but Kopitar is every bit as good at the defensive side as Danault. Yes having Danault will mean Kopitar does not need to take every d-zone FO, but the important ones probably still see Kopitar. Danault brings ONLY defence......overpaid for the return, glad he is gone at that 5.5 cost.

is there any way to prove this and irrefutably counter Eichel's statement? what a messed-up situation.

I did feel that 5 or 5.5M for the habs was indeed a bit of an overpayment, but not a completely exaggerated one either, considering the habs' current situation at the center position. in a few years perhaps I'll be glad the deal didn't happen though, I guess we'll see loll

We are of the same thought, simply too much cost for few scores. I think the C position will improve greatly because of the Danault departure. Time for the BS to be over, KK needs to shine or be shipped out. We saw Evans answer the call, he needs to get even better. Poehling is time as well...... They stay healthy, and the Danault moving on will be marginally felt, if at all.

Problem with this whole Eichel debacle is that it puts the organisation in quite a bad light as well, the disagreement over the course of treatment has got to be a big red flag for players out there who won’t want to come to Buffalo seeing the way they handled their captain’s health.... such a crap situation

sorry I'm not aware what exactly players are allowed to do or not in terms of training, or what this has to do with the potential surgery

Suzuki will be a sold player. No worry there.

KK is the one that has me feeling like a moth attracted to the flame. To protect from being sucked in, I give KK this year to make big strides. If he fails, I move on.....

Evans will be a sold 4C, with the hope he becomes a solid 3C.

Poehling is the wildcard here......he could become a 2C, but he could fall on his face as well. Personally, I think he develops into a solid centre, but we shall have to wait and see, eh.....

Handle his health, he wants a surgery never done on a Hockey player before. Even Friedman said talking to people around the league that teams would not be in favor of that. And if your Neck is supposedly that bad you shouldn't be doing something that has the potential to make it worse.

But now, how can they trade him when he still wants the surgery that they call too risky? How can they market him while keeping that opinion on the surgery? Teams won’t line up to take that gamble...it’s a right mess

he already is a solid player

and I get what you're saying about KK, but as long as there is an improvement in his play (more consistency) and that the expectations are realistic we definitely shouldn't give up on him just yet
