I’m keeping my prediction of a 3 way trade where the rangers don’t get eichel but do get a center upgrade. Hopefully it’s someone we all agree we like |

there's really only a couple of us. Truth be told I stayed away from here yesterday for the most part.
Happy about Raanta, Bear, Andersen, Leivo, etc.
Tony can (frank) off. And before people get all up in my face about it being political, it's not about his politics. He's just an bumhole. |

I am surprised the Habs didn't go all in on having the entire world outraged at them and sign DeAngelo to. |

In his conference after the fact, Tony said there were a few teams he talked to where the coaches and GM's were okay with him but the owner said no.
I think in CAR it was ownerships decision to pursue him. Dundon wants to win above all else, and if we're being honest Tony's on ice ability is 100% worth more than a $1 million contract. That's all Dundon cares about. |

Hey TJ! Hope you are doing well.
I agree with TPC that we need to address the center position, but honestly, I think that move might be something we are not anticipating right now unless the Sabres come down significantly on the price for Eichel. Don't think that deal would work if the Sabres are going to require two pieces at forward that the Rangers are depending on to fill the void left by Buch.
I am actually pretty high on Chytil if the guy could stay healthy. - Pete V
This makes sense.
Honestly, I would pay Mika 5 times over rather than go after Eichel. Everyone keeps saying 10M for Mika, but given that he's already here and well aware of our situation and what they are trying to build, not to mention his concussions, I think $8.5M is in the ballpark. I'll take that for the 19th leading scorer over the last 5 seasons.
Still need a center that offers a different skill set, but we shouldn't get an itchy trigger finger over it, IMO. |

and his quote when signing was all about how he had to fix on the ice issues but was a model citizen off the ice. still takes no responsibility for being a wienerhead off the ice (fighting on twitter and such). |

Oh well. With any luck he'll do something stupid again before the season even starts. Maybe Aho will take his lunch money in training camp again and he'll quit. |

OMFG, shut up and play hockey
if Tony watched video of himself with all the hours he spent tweeting he wouldn't be such a disaster in his own zone

I would pay Mika over Eichel as well. The problem lies is that the Rangers don't have the room for two $9-10 million centers, so an Eichel acquisition probably means no Mika. And then are you really solving the problem. So, you need to either find a good second line center who is on a middle class contract for a couple of more years, which may not be easy to find (and would cost a lot).
What other guys could possibly fit that profile? Not sure. |
