It's like when they got Brashear. What a waste.
- JRR1285

Reeves can skate. He’ll literally play against the isles and caps for a half the games

Sorry guys, but think that is a bad trade for you guys, waste of a asset.
- Buff36

I wonder how much longer we'll have to wait to drop that line about Eichel?

I agree with everyone that the loss of an asset stinks AND that Reaves doesn’t add much value on the ice.

But it certainly adds swagger to the locker room. If you’ve ever listened to Reaves in an interview, he sounds like an awesome teammate that knows how to build chemistry.

Maybe he's rolling dice?
- JRR1285

The dice of? Just sign Ritchie. We have 19 wingers for 12 spots.

One thing I will say is Reaves was asked about the Panarin/Wilson incident and he said no way Wilson does that if he’s in the lineup. He said Wilson has no one to be afraid of on the Rangers roster so y wouldn’t he do it.

Wasn't trying to start anything, and what does Eichel have anything to do with the Rangers bringing in someone that won't play half the games, should have signed Ritchie, atleast he brings something.

Has to be the last bottom 6 player added, right?

Gauthier is an AHL all-star whose game is too flawed to play bottom 6 in the NHL. He belongs in the AHL until he learns:
1. How to be better without the puck.
2. To not take dumb penalties
3. How to play in his own zone.

The guy is big and fast and the fact that they couldn't send him down last year because he could have been claimed and kept getting himself scratched led to a lost year for him. He should be traded or start the season in Hartford.

I see most of you are hating getting Reaves, but as a Pens fan I'm honestly jealous. Really wanted us to get him back, and kills me he's in division now. He is the 1 man Wilson legit wants zero part of. Wilson tried him twice, once his rookie year and neither really threw a punch, but next year Ryan dropped him with one punch to the back of the helmet and even since then Wilson won't even try. Reaves just runs him over and laughs now. Guarantee no more Hulk Hogan crap in the penalty box against you this season. Plus his post games are just pure gold. Enjoy the lion of the jungle lol

Jesus Christ guys, it’s a 3rd pick. My god this place is unbearable sometimes

Just enjoy us kicking the piss out of every team on the scoring board, and on the ice. Ain’t no one (frank)ing with us anymore

Not that at all.
Having Reeves on the team is going to do nothing. He won’t be on the ice with them.

Cheap shots are still going to happen.

It happens pretty much every game.

- ImThatGuy

Rangers have been pushed around and cheap shotted for years. Drury has a clear plan that what you think "happens every game" will be going the other way in spades.

Rumors persist the Rangers are attempting to make offers to Brashear, Scott, Carkner, Churla, Langdon, Purinton, Tie Domi, and others of like to come out of retirement despite their ages; to add to their new pieces (except for McKegg) acquired since yesterday, in attempt to dress 2 full lines of goons & 2 goon pairs of d'men each game, to satisfy Dolan.

Or, it may be that Dolan demanded they have 1 goon on ice per every shift, except when killing penalties for our best of hopes; prior to seeing him totally destroying Gorton's 3 year rebuild in the end.

Wrong!

The Rangers are negotiating to bring the Hanson brothers back as an intact line!

It’s not so much it’s a 3rd round pick. It’s the fact we got a 2nd for Buch and now paid a 3rd for Reaves. How is their trade value even in the same universe

Look, we have sat around now for weeks debating:

WHAT IS DRURY'S PLAN FOR THE RANGERS?

Well, now we know the answer! Everyone here may not like it, but its his PLAN and nobody can accuse him of only going halfway. We are going to be a big, tough, nasty team. You hit our skill players, we will drill 2 of yours.

We have had too much skill and not enough sandpaper for YEARS! It has gotten us NOWHERE in the playoffs. Now the pendulum has swung the other way. Lets see how it plays out. This is a team that is being constructed for a long run into the playoffs.

When we get another center ( fingers crossed ), then Gallant will have his team.
The cost of Buch and a 3rd round pick is NOT really that substantial. This might just work!!

I agree 100% with that analysis of Gauthier, and his current best means of use. Gauthier's game will suffer if he's deployed the way Quinn did last season. He first, however, should be given an equal chance to make their pro roster. If he shouldn't, they must give him regular playing time every game in Hartford (unless dealt), and recall him if deserving per his play if needed. He serves zero purpose otherwise if being on the pro roster, but scratched for many games, as you stated.

Despite taking it as a Rangers toughness history extreme to an extra extreme joke, I didn't want to take it to that type of non NHL related extreme.

But it does appear as if they want one predominant tough player being on the ice for every shift, minus penalty killing of key, which they may be doing a lot more of this season. That was one additional plus in Buch's game that they lost besides mainly his offensive production.

I love the Trade for Reaves! 3rd schmerd.

Will miss Jimbro- a voice of reason mostly.

@Brukie- what do you think of Panarin as a player? One of the NHL best? Does he make others better? Good team mate? A wussy? Leader? Just your thoughts without considering value to the Rangers
