It’s going to be a fun season, either we win games or go after the destroy the other teams when we lose

Except we lost one of the most impressive top 6 forwards for basically nothing. Especially considering the signings and trades we made to get more grit in addition to blais
- picklerick

If this team is really going to become a contender, it means Kakko and Lafreniere need to become bonafide top line caliber wingers.

In which case Buch has to drop to the 3rd line, and did we really want to commit to paying a 3rd liner almost 6 mil a year for the next half a decade?

Plus Buch brought back Blais, who could be a key cog in this new sweet bottom 6

The new Rangers have very specific defined roles:
Zibanejad you avoid concussions
Goodrow, you win faceoffs
Kreider, you tip in pucks on PP
Reaves, you punch guys with your right hand
Tinordi, you punch guys with your left

I guess a lot of this has to do with the lack of discipline handed down by that moron parros and the ridiculous fine levied on the Rangers for speaking up. I think game one Wilson will have to fight tinordi and then reavers will go after him. The retribution will be worth that third round pick after how frustrated all ny fans were after that bs act- and apparently Dolan too. Get ready Wilson you’re going down.

Glad some of you like this trade, unsure how and why, but I am so far on the other this.

They went from being one dimensional with no personality, to two dimensional with a TON of personality. This has Gallant written all over it.

The third is whatever.

Edit: having two thirds and three fourths this year might have been a good enough of a nudge to just say “screw it, Reaves for a third”

I wouldn’t say I like it, it’s definitely an overpayment. But I think Reaves helps make the roster better this year than the kid we draft in the 3rd round.

Reaves somehow has insane trade value always.

The Penguins traded Sundqvist and a 1st for Reaves and a 2nd fairly recently

Not that at all.
Having Reeves on the team is going to do nothing. He won’t be on the ice with them.

Cheap shots are still going to happen.

It happens pretty much every game.

Rumors persist the Rangers are attempting to make offers to Brashear, Scott, Carkner, Churla, Langdon, Purinton, Tie Domi, and others of like to come out of retirement despite their ages; to add to their new pieces (except for McKegg) acquired since yesterday, in attempt to dress 2 full lines of goons & 2 goon pairs of d'men each game, to satisfy Dolan.

Or, it may be that Dolan demanded they have 1 goon on ice per every shift, except when killing penalties for our best of hopes; prior to seeing him totally destroying Gorton's 3 year rebuild in the end.

No, he doesn't. I would rather play Dryden Hunt. Sign Nick Ritchie.

I'm with you, Jan.
They've added plenty of grit. Goons are not helping us get to the next level.

Yeah, not sure what Reaves being on the team accomplishes.

They run Panarin, Reaves runs Backstrom. Reaves doesn’t have to be on the same line as Panarin to protect him.

Well, that's a nice way to end my work week. I'll be in Maine until the 9th. Maybe I should just stay off HB the whole time. Last time I was in Maine the Rangers won the lottery in 2020 while I was on a break.

I wanted them to get more physical, but how do u trade a 3rd for Ryan Reaves. In what universe is Drury basing values off of.
