Understood but at a certain point what's the purpose of having three supposed #1 defensemen and no forwards? I can see why they want to trade Eichel for a forward-centric deal is all I'm saying

Yea, that fourth line is up in the air. I guess it would be Gauthier instead of Barron.

Since the Exp. Draft Freeze lifted, I expressed the same as Brooks, but with worry here as time progressed for Drury's lack of significant expected moves, (minus Buch dealt). It appeared Drury was spending his predominant time to first acquire Eichel.

Elliotte Friedman stated last week on Eichel's likely destination per his inside research, "I know the Rangers will always be in the mix, in being in a "STEALTH MODE" on Eichel," with Drury checking in "regularly" on others' latest interest & possible offers, & whether GM Adams price lowered.

Drury's post Exp. Draft game plan revolved solely around acquiring Eichel first, resulting in other potential trade partners of key, wanting either Strome or Buch, to make alternative plans. Buch also was the one roster player who the Rangers & Sabres both agreed upon to have part of any package deal for Eichel. Drury's delaying of teams contributed to Buch's trade value lowering, leaving the also heavily interested Preds, among others to drop out. The Rangers then allowed the Blues to speak to Buch's agent on a new contract, prior to completing their heist from Drury. Their heist also due to Drury's worry looking at the Rangers cap issues beginning next offseason, making Buch be then unaffordable at about $6M long term.

I think Minnesota makes the most sense for Eichel since they can offer guys like Rossi and Boldy. It would be cool if we could upgrade Strome or get another center that could push Chytil to the wing if the sentiment is that he'd be better there, but I'd be comfortable going into next year with this lineup

Could be a sneaky great signing. Solid AHL numbers and hardly gotten a shot in the NHL so far. Guy put up 116 points in his last season in the WHL. Not bad for a guy who’s expected to be a bottom 6 player.

A third rounder for one year of reaves. If he is an extra forward it looks bad because of the 3rd rounder and if he plays it looks bad because he isn’t very good. This is just terrible
