whether its true or not, it's definitely clear the Rangers wanted no part of arbitration with Buch

Once Kakko Kravs and Laf were drafted and Panarin Kreider signed long term buch was not in the plans. Writing on the wall over a year ago

Not too far from the truth, I have been lost to the soccer world in general. Basically travelled all over the country with my younger one this year, and my older one is going into to senior year and is going to start applying to colleges soon, so life has been very busy.

The part that sucks the most is I probably only have been able to catch half of Rangers games over the last couple of years. Little bastards are messing with my Rangers viewing.

I am 3 years away from 50 and I fell like that already, so you are ahead of the game.

I would say I watched about 50% of them which isn't bad considering, but wish I could have watched more.

This off-season has been interesting so far. I think the primary motivator for the Buch trade was to open up a path for Kakko, Krav and Laff to become more central players on the team. Sure, I would have liked a better return for Buch, but I do kind of like how the Rangers are becoming more difficult to play against in the bottom 6.

I will say this, I think the JD/Gorton firings were a total joke, but I am not that down on Drury yet.

Don't worry you aren't missing much. Ranger fans and twitter are all about to burn to the ground anyway

JD for sure, that will never make sense to me. I get moving on from Gorton to give Drury a chance so you don't lose him

What else is new?

I know I am probably in a significant minority, but don't mind what the Rangers have done. They needed to become a more balanced team with skill and grit and I think they are moving in that direction. But when you let go of Buch, the young guys, who will get more opportunity, are going to have to rise to the challenge.

Hey Pete! Welcome back.

I agree, they’ve addressed a lot of issues so far. Nothing overly sexy which is probably what pisses the fans off mostly.

Yea I agree. But I still think they need an upgrade at center. Just don't think Zib, Strome, Chtyill is going to get it done. They are all skilled finesse centers but none play a north south harder game. Want some variety in there to be a more complete team

Jan, thanks for the post. Although you think the Buch trade is a waste if they don’t make a big signing, remember they have to think long term with the Cap. If they spend all the money now, and further tie up Cap space, where’s the money for Laf,Kap, Krav, and Miller? And you know they will need 10 mil per for Fox. As an aside, I HATE the Cap! We pay some of the highest ticket prices in the NHL(I am a season ticket holder since 1997) and can’t keep players because of the Cap. Not for competitive balance, it’s for increased profits

I’d hate to even bring this back up, but what if the plan for the cap space is….Barkov next year

Spoke to the chief of orthopedics for my hospital today, hes a die hard Rangers fan with season tickets, he doesnt like the idea of Eichel. Very concerned about his neck.

Hey TJ! Hope you are doing well.

I agree with TPC that we need to address the center position, but honestly, I think that move might be something we are not anticipating right now unless the Sabres come down significantly on the price for Eichel. Don't think that deal would work if the Sabres are going to require two pieces at forward that the Rangers are depending on to fill the void left by Buch.

I am actually pretty high on Chytil if the guy could stay healthy.
