I think people are writing off Morgan Barron. I think he was the AHL teams leading scorer and is a center. I can see him being 4C over Rooney (assuming Goodrow ends up being a winger)
- rangerdanger94

one thing about Morgan Barron, nobody knows him better than Drury, so if they seem to be skipping over him, it's because Drury doesn't think that highly of him

that remains to be seen though

Rangers need to get this over with and grab Dvorak, sign Ritchie. Done. Roll into the season with…

LAF, Zib, Kakko
Panarin, Strome, Krav
Kreider, Dvorak, Ritchie
Blais, Goodrow, Rooney

Or, they can go back to my very very first idea, Tomas Hertl.

I bet this coach pairs Panarin and Zib

I have been the Morgan Barron cheerleader all year. For me the ideal situation is we grab Dvorak, Strome 2C or traded and Dvorak 3C or 2C. Next year Barron comes in and plays 3C after a full year in the AHL.

I think this was a SOLID signing. Very under the radar player, he will be a crowd favorite hitting everything that moves on our 4th line.

It’s almost like the rangers will have two teams...the Harlem Globetrotters top 6, and a roller derby bottom 6 they certainly have addressed the toughness/character/will levels of the team. It’s gonna be a fun ride watching this group grow into a cup contender

Yeah. It really is too bad now that we signed our best player 2 seasons early.

Todd "Heartbeat" Harvey 2.0
We are going to LOVE him, he just needs to keep himself healthy when splattering other teams players into the boards.

William Karlsson, (who played for Gallant), is 28. Makes $5.9 for next 6 years. Has a M-NTC(10 team no trade list). What if Vegas and the Rangers trades assets to Buffalo and Vegas got Eichell and the Rangers got William Karlsson? Obviously, the devil is in the details.

This was actually brought up in a previous blog by tj.

I dont think anyone here would have an issue with that.

I think Vegas literally has $0 in cap space. Not being hyperbolic

If CGY is serious about Eichel, we could maybe try to make it a three way with Elias Lindholm coming to NY.

Either way, the Rangers would presumably be able to afford to re-sign Zibanajad. Gallant might prefer Karlsson to Lindholm, but Lindholm is a bit younger and less expensive.

As far as Vegas' cap issues, there has to be a way to make it work. Karlsson would go to the Rangers and I'm guessing at least one roster player would go to Buffalo.

Essentially, I think it would come down to them trading Karlsson & Reaves to NY and Smith to BUF. That would create enough space for Eichel.

Problem is that Vegas has no center depth, and has been trying to address it without much success. The last guy they want to trade to get Eichel would be Karlsson.

Makes sense. Reeves is a bit pricey at this stage but I could see it. Smith's M-NTC just expired. He's on the last year of his deal making $5.0. Buffalo could trade him at the deadline and make a killing.

Instead of Chandler Stephenson and Karlsson, they'd have Eichell and Stephenson. That's an upgrade for their top 6 centers.

And unlike the Rangers who are still a young team, Vegas has enough established stars for Eichell to blend in and not take so much heat if he's in a slump. I don't think he should be in a place where he's expected to be captain or be the man, even though that contract makes it unavoidable to a large extent.

What they'd like to do is push Stephenson down to 3C. This doesn't help that.

I could imagine a scenario where Vegas tried to get the Rangers to take Reaves and Drury said no. Meanwhile, Sather and Dolan stood there yelling for Drury to take Reaves in the deal.

Want nothing to do with Reaves. Sign Ritchie, at least he can actually play.
