the reinhart trade is the only one that realistically could have fetched a ready prospect right?
then it turns out his value wasnt that great - robz228
Modestly productive year on last place team. Inflated stats as a result.
My criticism of Rhino has always been his lack of high level NHL speed and foot speed.
We got fair market value. GMKA fielded all offers and took the best I’m convinced of that |

Anaheim: Eichel
Buffalo: 1st Comtois Lundestrom Grouix - Buff36
Lundestrom and Grouix are 3C’s at best. Most likely both will just be bottom 6’ers.
So it’s really Comtois and a 1st for Eichel.
I’d like to see Drysdale at least.

This is all true, but I don't think it's near what it could have been in terms of young talent that's NHL ready coming back..
I was expecting 2-3 guys along the lines of Zegras or a few of the LA prospects who at worse are joining the Sabres in 2022 for the Reinahart/Eichel trades.
Now I fear the Eichel trade might not even garner those pieces as a return - sbroads24
If he can’t get you a top prospect you keep him and tell him to play nice or he’ll never be traded.
This is his and his agents fault he’s got no value. |

I think I'm surprised they got 0 NHL ready players for 23 and 55.
I expected at least one prospect that was close to making the jump.

I’m with you. If it’s not at least a first and elite prospect, why trade him now |

I have a hunch that the return wasn’t that great because he said piss off to an extension with FLA.
It was a deadline deal only Florida get the whole season with him and if they stink for whatever reason, they can recoup the pick. - dadeadhead
So then why deal him now?
I just don't get that trade at all
And it's a long shot Devon Levi is a good NHL starter someday as all goalie prospects are long shots |

Or Levi pans out as many experts have predicted and it’s a career move. Time will tell |

JFC. I'm not gonna turn this into a 10 page long Risto debate
The guy sucks. But the market for RD has been crazy high this offseason. I'm surprised they didn't get any NHL ready or close to ready prospects
That is all |

We got a top goalie prospect and a first for a guy who was leaving the first chance he got…. No ones over paying unless he was re-signing and I thinks he wants to test the market and either go home or make as much money as possible. |

His negativity is what has gotten him in this mess.
You tell him to smarten up play nice and score goals. And he’ll be outta here before the new year. |

I wonder what the alternatives were to a Risto deal to the Flyers. If Kyvyn targeted a first, you're not getting much more for the guy. Well, a 2nd and a warm body I spose.

Debatable
And goalie prospects are the most unpredictable prospects in hockey.
There's a better chance Levi never plays an NHL game than it is he becomes a bonafide starter |

The trade itself is fantastic. No complaints
But of course people like Pachla are trying to spin it into anything else than me saying I am surprised between the two trades we did not get an NHL ready guy |

And there also a bigger chance Reinhart was gone after this coming season then staying….
Who’s going to pay a nhl ready prospect for what most likely looks like a rental?
I think it’s a solid deal given the circumstances.
Risto deal as well was a major grab.
Now just gotta hit on Eichel. |

Reinhart pulled a better return than Buchnevich. That market was obviously dryer for forwards than d-men.
You don’t trade a player in the division if it isn’t truly the best package teams are offering. |

Yeah, I think it's an awful deal considering what we were all talking about as a potential return a week ago. But that's neither here nor there.
Remember when it was Matthew Tkachuk or pick 5 from Columbus? Or even pick 8 and a prospect from LA?
We got a pick that will most likely be 25-32 and an unpredictable undersized goalie
It's brutal |
