what industry? Ive been on both sides of that coin - atlsabsfan
Me too actually.
I worked for a forklift manufacturer as a Product Manager for Telematics.
I'm TONS of fun at parties.
Now I work for for a retail company managing the vendors that make that.
They were a customer and they hired me away from the forklift OEM.
Now I'm managing two other OEM's so that's why I'm an advocate for the vendors that try.
I've been on both sides, and that's super helpful. If I need a favor that falls outside of the prescribed contract provisions, if they know I advocate for them, work with them, and ensure they're paid.....they'll do near anything to help me.
It's a win win.

I would take Monahan, Connor Zary, Juuso Valimaki, and a first-rounde - homiedclown
Only if there's a deal to flip Monahan immediately for some quality. Zary is a solid piece, think he can be akin to a Larkin. |

Agree, Monahan is too old to fit into the plans. Flip him for a 1st next year |

Has two years left. Would keep him this year to isolate Cozens and Mitts in less profile situations.
Flip at deadline or offseason |

That would be ideal if a guy like Monahan could do that for a year and then move him at the deadline.
IF...he's the type of person that would do that. I meant be helpful and not a malcontent because he's on Buffalo. |

shame on espn for not having that
doesn't change over half the goalies in the nhl were taken after the 3rd rd for top 21 GAA in 2020-21
it's a crap shoot if you take them early, just like later in the draft, which is my point
we can list all the first rd busts in net taken in the last 25 drafts, it's a mixed bag
jack cambell picked 11th overall and was a bust until he turned 26

Don’t think the majority of players would come here and be a malcontent. Teams have ups and downs.
Look at the Bills. A laughingstock of NFL for years. Draft right, win games and players want to come here. Will be the same with the Sabres.
Bring a young core up with a good attitude, start making progress, and start winning (prob not this year) and we will be a nice place to play again |

I'm with you, I'd just like to make sure that person would be all in before I bring them in. I would make it a condition of the trade to talk to the player first, if possible.
Just my opinion, and you can tell how much that is worth. |

Apparently after a full day of back and forth yesterday between Montreal and Buffalo, Habs have upped their offer for Eichel and are waiting for a clear medical report. A few teams have dropped out of the sweepstakes, notably, Minnesota. Few teams remain. #GoHabsGo

To be clear, I have no confirmation on whether the recent Habs offer was accepted or not by Buffalo. I don’t think we’re there yet, other teams are still in the mix as well and are also waiting on medical reports before going further. Eichel camp want a resolution pronto.

I am unsure if Lehkonen is the one the Habs are dangling as bait, I’m told no, however, I can confirm he’s currently getting alot of attention from different teams. Canadiens still working on contract. #GoHabsGo

Are there any details as to what the offer from the Habs was?
If it's within the division it BETTER be good. Like REALLY good.

My guess is if it was anywhere near good enough more people would be talking about it
So in other words...probably not good enough |

I get it.. I don't think another year of losing is going to hurt their development honestly. And Buf has built this team to lose. I don't want players who could single handedly pull 8 wins for the team (I'm not saying he's going to win them 8 games while not hurting them as well, but he might only hurt them in games they were already probably going to lose while dazzling in a few they would lose without him. (frank) that noise.) Wright or wrong, one more year of losing seems to be on the docket. |

The right type of player says: I will carry that burden. You get guys that are leaders, not necessarily captains or stars. Good Quality Characters that care for their teammates and buy in no matter what.

Kind of meaningless when it all boils down to it. You take the best offer whether it's from Montreal or Minnesota or Philadelphia or Colorado or whomever. Jack's simply not that good to worry about him being in the same division.
And if the best offer is still a low ball then you tell Jack to cry into his gigantic piles of money as he plays for the Buffalo Sabres for the next five years if need be. |

Agreed.
And then I would be saying to that player off the record, any trade offers that I get of nearly equivalent value I'll let you know the destination and take your input to pay you back for having a good attitude. |

Thanks for sharing all of that - from what i’ve gathered the Habs are the only ones, at least from rumors, that are being realistic with offering and counter offering AND being cognizant of playing in same division.
All the others aren’t even offering their best prospect for our BEST PLAYER.
Unfortunately I don’t think there is enough of a bidding war right now for KA to pull the trigger - other teams are lowballing too low to leverage them against each other. |

I agree with that, but usually org's are a little hesitant.
They don't want to deal with the backlash of that person in the building that much. |
