100% agree
The Sam return wasn’t great,
but the Risto one was OUTSTANDING
With this Eichel trade, i believe Adams will pretty much lock in who he’s going to be as a GM for his future in Buffalo
If he backs too far down here, he’ll have no chance at being effective going forward imo
So he’s gonna have to hold out for a “good” return at least- if not a “great” return
Well see what happens! - jdfitz77
I'm kind of ok with the Sam return given that he's an RFA, stated he wasn't going to resign (or at least STRONGLY indicated it publicly) and it's the worst kept secret he was going out west.
Risto is the sterotypical Flyers defensemen a big bruiser.
So the context provides information.

👏👏👏
Which is EXACTLY what we should be aiming for this season- a Top3 pick this coming year
And a chance at Bedard in ‘23 |

So then we wait for Eichel’s neck to heal & he’s not longer an “unknown”
Boom- problem solved - jdfitz77
Would help if he stopped playing shinny hockey games. |

That’s a cup contender - Keepcomplaining

It don’t matter who you get in ‘23
That Russian kid is phenomenal |

Byfield as good as Eichel? Laughable - Keepcomplaining
Potential is the key word there.

Sure
I also think the FLA ‘22 1st has good value bc that’s a loaded draft
But at the end of the day,
I think what Adams does with the Jack trade will define him moving forward
So he’d better make a god deal imo |

theyll have Power in the lineup then and if they get Wright they hopefully will be a little too good for a top 3 but who knows. |

Keep Wright in the minors and resign Andy/Dell for 22-23 |

If LA offered that it would of been accepted by KA already. |

We could finish with the 5th or 6th worst record & get lucky
Or we could have mediocre goaltending still & finish last again
Tough to make exact predictions
But even with Eichel, we didn’t rocket up the standings
So i don’t think it’s automatic that we take an immediate leap with Wright & Power either
We’ll see
But i expect us to be pretty bad for at least the next 2years |

I understand what you're saying, you're concerned that this is a career altering injury for Eichel.
Based on the information that we have, that is highly unlikely. Even more unlikely than Byfield being a bust.
So I think the best course is to wait. If there are no offers, Jack, get healthy and we'll see you in camp.
Don't hurt your value further by:
1. Throwing Public Temper Tantrums
2. Tanking your performance
3. Anything that will further feed the notion you're a detriment to a locker room.
Use this season to show none of this is true.
Then get us as MANY teams as possible to trade our asks for your (Four top pieces) and then you pick from that last.
Godspeed. |

Not that its too much better, but:
Skinner-Eichel (or replacement)-Olofsson
Bjork- Cozens - Hinostroza
Asplund - Mittelstadt - Thompson
Caggiula - Girgensons - Okposo
Eakin
Dahlin-Joker
Hagg-Pysyk
Butcher - Miller

That's cool, but we are already having problems moving him, we don't need anymore. |

It's quite a bit better. If Eichel were in a happy place and Ullmark and McCabe had stayed then it would look respectable

Ok, idc about the situation you’re bringing up
Idk how many times i need to say “I’m not getting wrapped up in that” for you to let it go
I’m sure there’s others who share that concern
But I’m not interested in talking about that specific part of it
I don’t share your worry
And I’m gonna leave it at that |

Sign Krejci for some stupid money for two years and slot him in there. Even if they dont find a trade partner for Eichel before the season starts, they will have a veteran presence in the locker room who can still put up points. |

If Arttu Ruotsalainen isn't on this roster I'm going to scream. The kid should have been on the last two teams, and he scored 5 goals (in 17 games), more than Cozens managed in over twice as many games. For the life of me I can't understand why this organization picks random talented players like Pilut or Ruotsalainen and just refuses to give them chances while giving years of chances to other players who never deserve them.
That would be step one to getting better. Start playing your best players. Give skinner 18 minutes a night. Stop putting Olofsson on the top line, he can't even play the game 5v5. Shoot Cody Eakin to the moon. Stop playing mind games and pet favourites and just let the best 18 skaters play. |
