He got a 2 way deal which means they hope to have him in PIT only for emergencies
- Feds91Stammer

I'm sure that's Hextall's intentions, but Sid and Sully will have other plans. As soon as we lose a top 6 wing for 2 or 3 months (as we always do), Simon will slide right in.

Still looks better than Edmonton’s defensive group.

Why is literally everyone splitting Geno and Kap? I see it every time someone post a lineup.

You get your Geno/Kap, I get to see Blueger play with some NHL talent, and we keep the analytic superstars together.

Just give them a chance. You gotta give Simon and McGinn and ERod a chance. It’s a new season. You never know how they’ll play. They haven’t even played a game yet. Just give them a chance.

Any whispers on the Tatar front?

Yeah but logically trading away someone with value in hopes of signing an expensive UFA is a risky and probably horrible idea. I understand not being satisfied but there’s not much you can do with where they’re at cap and asset wise.

And not a peep about Tatar. Though it would seem he’s Toronto’s top target based on this:

TOR has indicated it is protecting its remaining cap space — approximately $3.5M — for a forward, likely a winger for the top six. Could be someone remaining in free agency, or from another team needing cap relief. We will see where this goes. Stay tuned.

He'd do great flanking Matthews or Tavares : /

I never wanted to see Simon leaving in the first place and now that he's on a two-way deal, I'm more than OK with him returning. He's been working out hard lately. Maybe trying to ressurect his career?
I'll believe in what I've read about McGinn. Hope he can gel well with Aston-Reese and Blueger. Give-him-A-chance.

Letting Gaudreau leave and signing Rodrigues made me angry af. Don't care what people say about him being a dime a dozen player.

I actually think ZAR-Blue-McGinn might be a better shut down line than the one with Tanev if that is how Sully intends to use him.

I also saw people on Twitter calling him a second liner (sounds bananas based on his production) but could he be next to Geno?

McGinn-Geno-Kap?

Then on the third line you have:

Zucker-Carter-Erod

Cause you know Guentzel-Sid-Rust won’t be broken up.

Exactly. I was banking on Pettersson getting traded to open up some space for Saad or even for Domi.

I was dreaming about a Kuemper/Dvorak package but looking at the price of Kuemper now, it made no sense lol

Thats the thing, the Pens dont have the assets or cap space for a lot of trades to make sense haha.

Not bad ideas at all but I hate to see E-Rod inserted in the lineup as a starter.

Yeah McGinn is a 2 year and 9 month younger 750k cheaper Tanev, basically. Guarantee Grinder ends up liking him haha

Wait until Tanev and McCann score in the Kraken season opener and (almost) everyone loses their mind here hahaha
