Why do you care who they sign for WBS?

They don't have a vet righty in WBS. That's all this is.

Very possible. Hextall said Simon is competing with the prospects for a spot. And that's how it should be done. Give your prospects a shot but have a vet if they aren't ready.

I wouldn’t expect hextall to do anything more than he did today. Pfft what a bum.

I think there is something brewing with LA. That Danault signing tells me they want to compete now.

The way things are lining up I wouldn't be surprised by a deal sending Jake to LA for some kind of Turcotte or Villardi package. I'd guess the Pens would then sign Saad if that happened.

Not saying I want them to trade Jake, but just speculating based on what LA is doing and what Pittsburgh has not done. Probably more likely is the same scenario but with Columbus sending Laine to LA.

Kopitar
Danault
Villardi

Byfield
Turcotte
Kupari

Unless they want to flip 3 of these guys to the wing, something will have to give. Ideally we would pull off a Zucker for Villardi trade but realistically that's not happening.

I really don't hate the guy. But he's a sh!tty replacement for McCaan. Sid and Sully like the guy so he'll always get the benefit of the doubt.

Right but I think one of the biggest mistakes the Pens have made over the years is signing vets who are marginally better than their prospects in camp and blocking them from getting a chance to get into the NHL rhythm.

Sprong is a recent example where hevwas way more talented than a lot of guys but never really had a chance to get comfortable with the team. He is getting that chance in Washington now.

Those guys will go to wing. Theres no overthinking this. Just like the flyers ppl said, we will get tired of hextall’s patience. He’s done except for maybe another plug. No convoluted schemes with other teams.

It also wouldn’t make sense to trade Jake for an up and coming prospect. Just let Jake ride shotgun for the boring end of days with hextall in charge.

If Simon is blocking them then they seriously blow, so we'll know where we stand with them.

Why is literally everyone splitting Geno and Kap? I see it every time someone post a lineup.
