What are some of the other moves still to come? Who is available?

UFAs - Devan Dubnyk, Tuukka Rask (inj), Henrik Lundqvist, Domingue, Dell, Lyon, Pickard.

Trade - Georgiev (requested trade), Koskinen, Korpisalo is also available. Also crowded crease in DAL.

Given that list, unless we finagle MAF, looks like we’re stuck w what we got

The biggest issue last year was goaltending, and they did NOTHING to address that.
*Dont tell me they are waiting to deadline to buy MAF cheap from Chicago.
A) that would be a bad move given MAF playoff propensity to allow soft goals at horrible times.
B) the Pens might be so far out of the playoffs by then they will be sellers and not buyers.

*Seemingly every other team in the division got stronger between trades and FA signings. We definitely are not as strong as we were at end of season last year.

Oh I agree and appreciate it. I’m not mad at all. I’m cool with where the Pens are and I don’t get my hopes up that they’re going to be contenders anymore because they just aren’t.

Keep the team competitive, let the superstars retire here if they want, and get ready for dark days before they draft another generational talent.

I dont love the McGinn signing, but I also dont hate it. It's grown on me a little throughout the day. I would rather have signed Gaudreau for the extra $.2M over E-Rod, but if that's my biggest issue with who we signed... it wasnt a bad day.

Once the big contracts started getting signed, I knew the Penguins would do nothing. And rightfully so. Some of the contracts are stupid in normal years let alone in a time of a flat cap.

Simon does nothing for me. Its a 2 way deal so I dont think much of it either way.

So we have about $3M available, right? I would imagine ZAR gets pay increase, but we should still have left over. Trading Matheson or Pettersson is the only way forward. I still think there is more to this MAF story, but who knows how that shakes out.

I think he can be productive on the 3rd line/middle six. Definitely not what he used to be.

Also you gotta think what kind of game the Islanders play, Parise was a pretty responsible winger when he was with NJD, he could fit in seamlessly into Trotz system.
