I think the Pens going into free agency today had the 3rd or 4th lowest amount of cap space. Unless they could get someone to take Pettersson or Zucker's contract, their hands were pretty tied.

Really can't live with $2.75 million for 4 years?

- stevens87

Agree. Ultimately when they couldn't move Zucker, Pettersson, or Matheson there wasn't a lot they could do. Maybe find an offensive wing or upgrade in net instead of McGinn.

This is Hexy's MO. Bring in safe players who play "the right way" i.e. safe and calculated.

With the Ads losing out on Gubs, any chance they would want Jarry or Desmith and this new G can step up?

Nice addition! We can certainly use a goalie prospect in WBS.

Does anyone think Ceci's contract is good @ 4 x $3.25 mil per?
- stevens87

No but that’s because I think he sucks and that’s too much term and money for a 3rd pair guy.

Now dump Jarry, Get Fleury. Roll Fleary/Desmith this year. Resign Fleury 3 years 10 million and bring this kid along to be the backup and future starter

He just won the Frozen Four with a 0.33 GAA.. He won thr gold at world Juniors in 2019. He can be a gamer, eventually.

Kid has some growing to do, but at a ELC... does this mean the end of DeSmith or Jary?

He allowed 1 goal in 3 games in the NCAA tournament... he is pretty legit. Perfect guy for them to get. He can start in WBS and has legitimate potential to be a full time backup this year or next. Ideally, say bye to Jarry, get Fleury and have Desmith as backup. Resign Fleury for 2 years and bring him up as the full time backup next year.

It's almost like RW longs for the days of the 4th line being Tanner Glass, Craig Adams and Taylor Pyatt

Start him straight out of college

We'll either break him or he'll be the next Roy

Don't forget Brian Gibbons

He was ready to give him a 12 year deal to match Sid's and become his permanent winger

They might want Jarry, but we aren't in a position to deal him now. Lindberg is just turning pro. Interesting prospect, but not a sure fire NHLer and definitely not who you count on to start right now.

I believe Vensel reported today that the Pens have no interest in MAF.

More on Lindberg: The 6'1", 194-pound goaltender finished the season with a 10-1-4 record and five shutouts in 15 games. His 1.24 goals-against average and .949 save percentage were both career highs and best in the entire NCAA.

He's the next Matt Murray, 2 cups in rookie season before he turns 24. Book it.
