I mean Perry, with his big pants and truculence ways, would of been good for the 4th line RW at 750k, no? or no? Not that he definitely would of signed with Pens but I could see Burke at least mentioning it to Hex...

Defending repeating champs wanted him...

Perry left money on the table elsewhere. Getting that second year was important, he wanted a place to call home, and he wanted it to be on a team with a chance to win.

That’s such a reasonable contract. Wish Pitt could land an impact free agent in my lifetime.

#FIREHEXTALL

I would rather go down swinging with JR at least trying to put together a winner than Hextall just sitting on the bench. Hextall is the Simone Biles of NHL GM's, it's like he is afraid to lose so he is just going to sit in the stands and watch everyone else try to win.

It's not just that Saad is a hometown kid who just signed a reasonable contract in a poopty city that doesnt have a beach or tax advantage. Its that he has done absolutely nothing. I keep hoping there is a plan but it appears there is not... We haven't added more talent, we haven't even added more trucculence... what are we doing?

So, Saad, 24 points/44 games in with Coloradao, making $4.5 mil per year x 5 is reasonable but McGinn, 13 points/37 games with Carolina, making $2.75 mil per year x 4, some here said yesterday, should have gotten Hextall fired?

Saad had 24 points with Colorado last year in 44 games. Get your heads out of your asses people, he's not worth 4.5 mil for five years.

Well typically we don’t have the cap but even when we do we don’t do it so I think it’s just location at this point. Though for my cent Pittsburgh is cooler than St Louis.

Yeah that’s why I was curious. Wonder if and what the pens offered Saad.

Hearing comments from canes fans right now is like going back in time and hearing comments about tanev from Winnipeg fans. Would have been nice to have both of them haha

Look at his stats. 44 games 24 points. McGinn had 13 in 37 games. Is that so much worse?

You do raise a good point here...especially when you look at Saad's linemates and time on ice last season and me assuming he at least got 2nd PP time, perhaps 1st PP time sometimes...7 points difference ...underlyings for last season pretty close, Saad better in some, McGinn better in others..

I mean Saad averages double the points McGinn does for his career but go on.

The last 3 seasons....I'm surprised here ...have to say though that Saad is pretty much a yearly 20+ goal scorer who's hit 31 before, McGinn is not
