I actually think ZAR-Blue-McGinn might be a better shut down line than the one with Tanev if that is how Sully intends to use him.

I also saw people on Twitter calling him a second liner (sounds bananas based on his production) but could he be next to Geno?

McGinn-Geno-Kap?

Then on the third line you have:

Zucker-Carter-Erod

Cause you know Guentzel-Sid-Rust won’t be broken up.

Interesting thought, I mean they could try it. But we'll have to wait a bit for that.

McGinn sounds like a more physical ZAR to me, so I think the 4th should be better since McGinn is definitely better defensively than Tanev, but a 2nd liner? I mean, there's always the Dupuis situation to refelct on, so you can never say no, but I wouldn't count on it.

Simon has seen more air time in this thread than he’ll see in the NHL this season.

I was trying to look at team's situations right now. Who do you guys think could even use Pettersson's services at this point? Anaheim maybe?

Given the cap restrictions the Pens have to make a real move, that's kind of the move you want them to make, one of those fringe bottom 6 guys that might be able to take the leap to the top 6?

Who knows though, not like Sully isn't gonna superglue Zucker to Geno when Geno gets back anyways.

The only hope is if Zucker is still on the Pens come opening night that he finds chemistry with someone else.

I think we’ll like McGinn, just not really what we needed. If we still had McCann and our forward situation was a little less dire I may even have been happy to exchange Tanev for McGinn.

I thought Anaheim too because we were linked to Rackell. That'd be pretty awesome right? Pettersson for Rackell. Obviously we'd have to add, but imo that's the upgrade we're looking for.

I think it would be a sound move as long as the Pens don't have to add picks 1-3.
