Anybody heard any rumors on Ritchie....??? I'm really hoping after signing Pius Suter Yzerman takes a run at signing Ritchie. He would be a great addition to Detroit. We need a power forward to add some grit and scoring touch to our middle six.

Just thinking along the lines lot cheaper and could’ve kept 13th pick. Bear does play somewhat physical game.

maybe if we put a package together we couldve got McDavid

But then, there is a lot of risk here when you have done so much to go for it this season. So, sign Elliott, tell him we guarantee you no more than 10 games, but we value you and want to keep you around and we will pay you more. There were stories he was planning retirement a few weeks ago, weren't there? I think if he wanted to play more, the last place he would go is Tampa with Vasi hogging the starts.

I would rather not sign Nate and do that. Its just more consistent with the other moves. Just b/c it is not conventional does not mean it's a non-starter.

It's a non starter. You have yet to address why Elliott would sign in that situation. You have yet to address the cap and roster ramifications. Even when it is pointed out to you.

If Hart returns to form, we are a playoff team. If he poops the bed we are in for a painful ride. Jones doesn’t give the warm and fuzzies but does tend to get wins.

I suspect coaching should get this team playing tighter defence which should help both goalies.

Overall I think this off-season has potential and rocked the boat for the vets.

The discussion wasn't in any way about the Flyers.

I’d be ok with that…as long as he is healthy…obviously need to dish out other salary though…or am I mistaken?

You're not mistaken. That deal is also not enough. If they would trade Eichel for something on that level, he'd have already been traded.

Really? Certain hockeybuzz ppl said that trading away a number one center that may want to sign for high dollar term leads to younger talented player ++++. I thought it was a done deal? I thought that was how you built a team?

Not necessarily. Lot of moving parts in terms of contract length and term for players going the other way, positions of need for Buffalo, etc. SuperShenn’s proposed offer is solid and well thought out, imo.

It is, but as MJL said, its not nearly enough. This has everything to do with what Buffalo is apparently asking for...and by all accounts its way more than that. Is Buffalo being unreasonable and way over valuing Eichel? Maybe they are. That seems to be the case so far.

My offer for Eichel aside and speaking from my view when I look at the current state of the Flyers. Not one move Fletcher has made helps the Flyers future. Not 2, 3, 5, 10 years down the road. Trading the 22 year old Patrick, the 24 year old Myers and the 28 year old Gostisbehere for Ellis, Jones, Atkinson and Thompson are not good returns for what we gave up. Ristolainen at 26 years of age is the only player under 30 that Fletcher has picked up. This team got older and I’m certain of how much better we really are now. We need to be in on the Eichel talks.

Yes bumbalo will ask for the world. As this moves on the price goes down. Eichel is done in bumbalo. At some point price comes down because they can’t have the drama. The game is at what price /point does a team step in and say ok I can deal with this package.

Craig Anderson just signed in bumbalo 1/750k. Jones is very very underwhelming. Who knows maybe he plays alright for the year. Not counting on it tho.

It kinda goes against fletch narrative tho doesn’t it. Can’t go into next year expecting the kids to take a step and upgrade the support positions. Jones looks as washed up as any goalie ever. Who knows time will tell. I don’t expect much from team anyways. All I’m looking for is progression from the young core and moving out bad contracts
