Or he could just not secretly record or take pictures. She trusted the wrong person. That is the only mistake she made. The fact you would even type something like this makes me question your integrity. - mickel25

18 year old slept with 17 year old girl …took pictures and put them on his social media. That’s a crime in Sweden, when they are taken without consent. - landros 2
Actually girl was 18 he is 17. Doesn't make what he did any better. |

On this whole Montreal pick controversy… what constitutes cruel and unusual punishment? Does it apply to multi national situations? It happened in Sweden. The sport is universal.
IMO it’s obviously a douche move what he did. Obviously it’s a crime or should be everywhere.
Does his me or should it have or carry the punishment of losing his chance at a career in hockey?
IMO opinion no the punishment doesn’t fit the crime. Taking all things into consideration. Is the victim so harmed for life that the perp should have this punishment? IMO no.
IMO victims rights has in a lot of situations gone overboard in regards to cruel and unusual punishment rights of the offender.
That’s not to diminish at all crime or in this instance a particular crime or the victim.
People tend nowadays to forget to take into account all the factors of BOTH offender AND victim.
In this case you have a young man a boy that did something very douchy and stupid. He has caused damage by his actions for sure. But are they life threatening? What about 2nd chances? What about learning from mistakes that ALL humans make? IMO let the kid make amends to her best he can. Learn from mistake. Educate others how bad it was. But let the kid do these things and better himself and earn a living and have a life too
These idiot politicians getting on tv doing this crap is unusual punishment IMO. They ARE doing to this kids exactly what he did to the victim in a sense.

My issue is, how does Fletcher make the trades that he has and follow it up with these signings. Like, who is ringing Nate Thompson’s phone off the hook? I’m not saying sign a star. We absolutely need depth. What I’m saying is, if you can’t get Luke Gendening, you better get damn near close to that type of player. We’ve given up a lot of draft picks and youth this passed week. |

You wrote a lot about a kid that got punished legally and that's it. What point are you trying to argue, he got drafted, his chance to play hockey exists.

I know the first thing I always do before (frank)ing is to sweep the entire room for recording devices, tell my partner to power off their phone and never let them out of my sight for a second.
Oh, and sometimes I light candles. |

Ok. So with all the moves made.....Who's your top center? - J35Bacher
With current roster? Play whoever you want there … coots/Hayes. Doesn’t matter I don’t see either as 1c.
I’ve said a million times they need a 1c |

What I said is in todays society you need to be more aware with the technology available. Nothing more nothing less.

Went to the city to see my boys in their new place and to bring a couple of Angelo's pies to them. Get back and find out that it's ground hog day with Nate Thompson being signed. Are some kiddies in the lineup are starting to get squeezed?

Guys acting like there is no scenario where a phone could be whipped out and a recording happen without the other knowing. Could happen easily |

The fact you had that thought at all and then took the time to type it out should be embarrassing to you.

Thompson is a waste of contract slot, as well as a waste of oxygen. Jones was literally the worst goaltender option on the board today. Fletcher failed miserably in free agency. He made 3 trades. One I like, one is questionable, one is a cluster(frank). He had to make changes, he did that. We will find out how much better this team is. |

I’m not understanding why Montreal drafted him when he asked not to be drafted. It’s confusing. - NC Flyers Fan
Presumably, they drafted him because he is a good player, and he had very good value at #31. If they skip him over, there is no guarantee they get a player like him again.
They botched the public imagery of this imo, not the decision. A carefully crafted statement, issued in coordination with his camp, could have been fair to both parties. Something like this?
The Montreal Canadiens have decided to select Logan Maillaux with their 31st pick.
We would like to explain this decision. We believe Logan Maillaux is a talented young hockey player who has made a serious mistake.
We strongly condemn the mistake, and this drafting should in no way indicate our overlooking the serious implications of such an act to the victim's family. To this end, we declare that Logan will not play for us this season and will be asked to undergo professional counseling. The Canadiens will arrange for meetings with women's rights groups in Montreal, where we will ask Logan to be present, and we will present the results of such meetings as a public report designed to address the issue of misogyny in young athletes.
The Canadiens also believe in Logan Maillaux's future as a contributor: to human society and to hockey. Our hearts go out to the wronged young woman, and we will be reaching out to her privately to convey our repugnance in what she had to endure.
We ask all parties to respect the privacy of the parties involved.

My point was basically that the kids should’ve been drafted as he was clearly a “draftable” player. And he should have career. These idiots on tv trying to shame habs for picking him because they want to take this kids career away is bs. In a nutshell |
