The girl deserves none of it and it seemed a reasonable request by the kid to just leave him be for a season or what have you while it all died down.

What you suggest as far as apologies, counseling, etc seems reasonable and appears to be what the player actually asked for.

Montreal comes out looking brutal…especially in today’s world. Here’s a good rule of thumb I heard the other day….if you have to prepare a statement before making your pick justifying it ….it’s probably a mistake.

If he signs 7-8 8+ IMO year 1. I don’t think he’s anything more than average at best 1c.

I think he’s a absolute beast great and top 3 in league 2c

Saying that IMO at this stage of his career if I were signing him from another team I’d give him 4-5 term 5.5-6 mil as my 2c

I wouldn’t sign him as my 1c because IMO he slots wrong at 1c.

Every year you see team after team way overpay to try to fill some team need. Aaaaannnnnddddd it never works. Would I give a slight overpay ? Yes possibly to fill a need but not way over pay.

And that’s what coots will get. Even if you think he’s above average 1c giving him the term/$ he’s gonna get if goes to Fa is way over payment for slightly above average 1c

And people that justify him as top tier 1c in league well sorry can’t help to show them. The league is speed and skill. That’s what wins. Coots at best considering his d game somewhere in that 10-15 range at best 1c hes top 3 2c. And should be paid by team accordingly. However I don’t see that happening because he was under payed on current deal. And he should try to get payed. No problem with that.

And once again today proves there’s no “flat cap” bs excuses. Teams will ALWAYS over pay at Fa

Agreed…an absolute creep move and he knew he screwed up. The girl said the context of his apology was a text. But he’s a goofy kid. That said, the kid was held to the fire by the justice system and has apparently (i don't know the full context of his apology, its not on me to determine if it suffices for the victim) tried to make amends. Montreal should have respected the idea that a kid with a proven history of bad decisions, actually made a good decision and just let him be.

I haven't watched it yet, the book is pretty great. I've added 2 other Backman books to my To Be Read List as a result. Us Against You is the follow up to Beartown and A Man Called Ove seems to be loved by many.
