A bunch of negative Nancy’s in here today
- Jup16

All Fletcher had to do ALLLLLLL day was get a capable backup goaltender...That's it and we get Jones. Fletcher started the negativity first

Covid has made it feel like two years.
But he was not good at all late that season and was invisible in the 19-20 playoffs in the bubble and it carried into last years shortened season.

- Buzzo

PP was putrid last year so everyone's point totals were off. If we can fix the PP and get it back to a respectable level, then we see goals go up.

I'm excited to see Atkinson. I think he brings speed and scoring that I was hoping to see from TK a little more frequent. TK needs to step up this year. JVR needs PP1 minutes. He could get back to 30 goals.

I'm willing to let it play out.

you know your constant poopting on the flyers brings me tremendous joy, but really. its tough to nitpick a ton here. you knew they werent going or able to do much today, and they didnt. what expectations could you really have had for today?
- stayinthefnnet

I don't think he even cares. I think he just comes here to rile up some people. It works so he keeps coming back.

Hart just had a SV% in the .870's. Team SV% was in the .880s.

"Backup goalie" could be your starting goalie in a hurry.

- Tomahawk

Meh. We added two top 4 d men this offseason. I’m willing to bet Hart will be fine.

People wanted Holtby and his numbers last year were even worse than Jones

Hart’s life will be much simpler when we can actually clear the puck this season and not continuously turn it over via failed clears. That was basically the difference between 19-20 and 20-21.

give me a fn break. How many vets did they acquire prior to singing Nate? veteran voice. Makes them tougher to play against good fn lord.
- hello it's me 2050

Ok, well, I believe CF and his staff know a lot more about what they needed than you do. Why don't we see what happens when the season starts. There were not a lot of options out there for a 4th line center with size for under $1M.

Nate provides a veteran voice in the locker room, and can give you 10 minutes a night. He's big, hits and blocks shots. He fits the bill for the Flyers forward group needed, i.e. more size and grit. He makes the Flyers tougher to play against.

While from the outside people like to say this guy sucks or that guy brings nothing, the mix in the room is important as we saw with nisky. You do need these types of guys. There’s more to it than simply going on hockey db or nhl 2022 and saying this guy sucks. This isn’t basketball where you can win it all with 3 stars. There’s four lines and someone has to pk and play d. Question if it’s all about stats and nothing about what someon brings to the room why did Tampa sign Elliott? Maybe he brings that and can also step in for short periods to give vas a rest.

And he's been bad for 4 straight seasons now. I still would have preferred him over Jones, however with Ben Bishop's injury, I think Holtby probably felt Dallas was a better situation for him.

We should have signed Rittich/Thompson for the same price as Jones

Just gonna pop in here real quick to laugh at all the people that were using “flat cap” for excuses or logic involving any moves made or to be made. “

“Flat cap” my big fat ass.

You now see what coots extension will look like. If you can’t see this you are BLIND and DELUSIONAL. Trade him now!!!!

Yes GM's are infallible. Always correct 100%.

Again then you don't sign him. Just like Gus last year there was no need. Sit back and play it out.

Elliot was signed imo because he was the cheapest option for them.

It’s kinda wait and see with Jones…hopefully he can be reliable….but honestly if Carter is back to Carter then the goaltending won’t be an issue. Thompson is a decent PK guy, and god knows we needed help there…so although today is nothing exciting it’s filling cracks at this point.
