Well there goes that lol. Ethan Bear traded to Carolina - vlongo4419
Warren Foegele was the return. Thought Edmonton would get more for Bear. Really don’t like that move for Edmonton. |

$4M total with a $2M AAV would be sweet. Like I said earlier, I really like the idea of Bernier on the Devils. - Matt Ross
Agreed. He was on the top of my list of free agent goalies to target. I think he and Blackwood would work well together, and hes a reliable guy that you can count on to play ~30ish games |

Another questionable move added onto the list of the very bad offseason Holland is having lol. |

Totally. I’m pumped for the Devils this season and they still have some moves to make here… |

This one seems pretty cut and dry to me. We've drafted (seemingly) well for a few seasons now. Have foundational pieces drafted at every position (Nico, Jack, Holtz, Luke Hughes, Smith, Blackwood) and have plenty of complementary players with nice upside as well (Mercer, Mukamadullin, Clarke, etc). This isn't a scenario where we're building a team through FA (which most believe will never work). If you can add Dougie Hamilton at 28 to that foundation, you do it every time.
Now if he were 28 when we drafted Nico in 2017, that would be a different story. But we're at the point where, moving forward, we're going to have "top" talent join our team from our prospect pool for the next 2-3 seasons. You don't wait until their all 25+ to start adding from FA, you do it when the opportunity arises (especially when Nico, Jack, Smith, Blackwood) are already pretty darn established alongside multiple other 26 and under talent we have like Severson, Graves, Bratt, Zacha, Sharangovich, Kuok and so on.
A player of Dougie Hamilton's stature wants to join the devils... let's not assume that'll ever happen again lmao |

Dougie Hamilton is a Devil, confirmed by Nick Kypreos. 7 years, north of $60M |

Our D looks much much better, going to be fun to see who plays where
Hamilton severson
Graves smith
Siegenthaler subban
Or does Hamilton play with graves
Then we have the PP do we go smith and Hamilton on PP1 or does smith QB PP2 |

Hamilton is RD so you have to figure the top 4 will be:
Graves-Hamilton
Smith-Severson
After that I’d imagine the 3rd pair is up for grabs. |

Considering Jones just coming off an 18 point season inked 9.5M AAV, and cost them both Boqvist, 12 overall pick plus a 2nd ......
I will take Dougie all day vs those comps. When P.K. leaves, we will be back to a 30M cap space team with the leagues top goal scoring D.
Smith Dougie
Graves Sevo
Seig P.K
Have to say this looks great going forward, and developing down in the AHL

Agreed.
Now, Vegas added RW Dadanov which makes me believe that another move is coming. Why add Dadanov when you have Tuch, Stone, and Marchassault already on the right? They must be brewing up a deal with someone for help down the middle.

According to LeBrun on Free Agent Frenzy, the Devils deal with Bernier is expect to be 2 years, 4M. Theres no confirmation on whether thats 4M total or 4M AAV - vlongo4419
Hopefully not 4 mil a year lol |

It hasnt been officially confirmed yet by the big insiders, but Pagnotta said on NHL Network that the AAV for Hamilton will be around 8.5M. So cheaper than any of us expected |
