I'd say it's still early. Like I said above, I don't think much will happen until late today - tomorrow. Murphy was more of an AHL move, could it be because they foresee McIsaac coming up & they need to replace him? I dunno, Murph last played in the NHL 3 years ago, then only for 1 game, so I don't see him as a NHL-ready solution.

Is there that much confidence in Bergy & Veleno? I'm moderately concerned about the "depth" at Center, J. Awaiting for end of day tomorrow to see what transpires, but there are some nervous hours in my immediate future!

It nice having two guys that have played center on the bottom three lines.

Ok, this is one of those, “I’m going to regret this” responses. Veleno hasn’t been able to secure the Center position in the AHL or overseas. He keeps getting moved to the wing. That’s not a good sign. Berggren was getting a lot of high praise for his play at center. I believe JB is better as a center. Veleno will probably grab a winger position. it’s tough, because people are much more familiar with JV because he played in North America. Berggren needs time on North American Ice. I think after this year Veleno should be taking an NHL spot. Which line is up to him. In a couple years Berggren could be centering Veleno and (?). We’ll see.

Detroit’s issue has been a glut of 3rd and 4th line players and not quite 2 top lines. We need another center at least as good as Larkin. That hasn’t happened at this point. Fabbri was pretty good in the middle playing with Zadina and Ryan. It’s still a significant jump. Just my opinion.

I’d love for Rasmussen to take a jump forward. He had to work his butt off to grab the 3rd line center spot. I don’t know what to do with JV. Berggren is better in the middle at this point. Veleno is so fast, he may benefit being a winger for now
