if everyone you mention steps it up big time to compensate for Danault being gone then I guess it could work, but I find this situation at center is a bit concerning. but apparently Danault being gone is a good thing, so I guess I should feel relieved. might take some time lol

Oh I don't think this year is going to be a good year. At the same time I remember before the playoffs people were mocking his agent for turning down the contract with the Habs and that between playoffs and regular season he played 75 games and scored 6 goals and 28 points. That's a lot of money and term for that production

Yup, Habs are also adding Caufield this season. Will definitely help them in the goal scoring department...

perhaps it's best for the long-term, yeah. I was under the impression the negotiations between both parties had gone better than reported, and that he would actually stay for a decent number... oh well.

Not like Danault who spit in the face of everyone in this province.

I have a hard time believing he couldn't have gotten the same deal here or maybe even 6 million. (frank) him.

i think it was his shutdown work in the playoffs that got him that contract. if Montreal goes out in game 5 against Toronto, i don't think he gets $33 million from LA.

pas mal certain que le CH fera un échange pour un centre tôt ou tard, mais pas Eichel

It's not a good thing anyway you spin it, but he defintiely didn't want to be here. Hopefully Bergevin can swing some magic to get Dunne and a good defensive center.

Like I said based on the details of the deal it seems both sides weren't interested in a deal. For all we know there are deeper reasons but as you said, oh well
