I thought back in the day before Shanny took the Leafs job, there was talk of him joining the Islanders or some wanted it to happen? I do not remember now. Glad it did not happen.

Actually, radio silence from #Isles regarding any (presumed) signings is not surprising one bit. Andy Greene deal from before expansion draft (they needed to sign him to fulfill draft requirements) still hasn't been officially announced.

They've gone through multiple GMs, coaches, and veteran leaders and there's still kind of that black cloud hanging over everything there. I agree, at some point you look at the captain and ask if he's helping to fix the situation or contributing to it.

But, on a different team with some established leadership in place, where all he has to do is show up and play hockey, he could be a dynamite asset for someone.

Lou really locks things down.

Looking at some of the money given to dmen I'm not that surprised. Chara would have been nice but not with Greene already. Suter would also be nice but he may have too many other teams interested. I'll probably take Murray depending on what he is looking for.
